Would that leave the door open to return to UC in a couple of years? I doubt it would happen, but could be an interesting twist.

I thought of that too when I read he was going to a JUCO. Does Mick have connections at this school? Just curious because I know he's from Memphis, if anyone knows the specifics of which JUCO he is going to.

I wish this kid the best. I don't know all the circumstances around the bar fight, but I wish he coulda had another shot at it here. I get that he already got a second chance after the Xavier mess, but that's a pretty unique situation, imo.

Wouldn't shock me to see him recruited again if he develops and matures.

if they cant find a big man soon it wouldnt surprise me to see ellis back. what do you guys think of that scenario?

Ellis said he is not coming back. He is going to Trinity Valley College. This was from Ellis on twitter.

From what I hear, Ellis had one foot out the door before this fight. Between the program and him things werent working out. And the sucker punch at the bar may or may not have been from him. Another player closely resembling Ellis was more involved, a senior perhaps...

I don't think there is even a sucker punch thrown. No one came forward to back the bouncer's story up.

The following was posted on another site, take it fwiw:

"Talked to a good friend of mine who was working at PLAY that night for the first time since this incident. To summarize our conversation. Don't believe everything you hear on the news. McLucas was disgruntled for awhile, had put his two weeks in earlier in the week and was looking for a fight that night. Called Octavius something no Caucasian should ever say to an African-American in an already tense situation prior to shoving Octavius. And no one was blind-sided or sucker punched.

"In the end I still stand by Mick's decision to kick Octavius off of the team because he shouldn't have even been near this situation. It did, however, confirm a lot of our suspicions that McLucas is a punk."

i know this is a old topic but dont you guys think removing him from the program was premature now that obekpa is going to st.johns

There is no senior that resembles Ellis.

I'm just reporting what I have heard from others that hang around Play a lot and know people inside the Bearcat program. I stand corrected on "the sucker punch" but it was a some sort of confrontation and a JUNIOR to be was more involved than Ellis, but Ellis took the fall

Why the secret? You first said senior which I assumed meant Dion or Yancy. Obviously neither. Then maybe it was upcoming senior which would be Cash, Park or Cheik.

If it is a upcoming junior and he looks like Octavious I suppose we are talking about Justin Jackson.

Seems possible?

You know people that hang around Play?

Thats not good...

Ellis sounded like he kinda knew he was out. Whether or not it was him, I agree he may have kind of been out anyway.

You have a lot of bad info. By a lot I mean all of it. So you have that going for you...
