I didn't get to watch at all, did they really out score us the last 15 minutes? Was it vs all the back ups?

7-12 on the bench shouldn't get out scored by that team ever.

UC was running out all kinds of different rotations.

Kinda hard to stay after when your up by 30 points.

Zero concern

I would like to see Jenifer as our starting PG. I think he is the better facilitator. We need the best assist man on the floor when our top weapons are on the court. I could see Broome being a great spark off the bench.

The first sentence will not happen, jenifer even said in the post game that Cronin wants him to be the best 6th man

We went up 65-23 with the starters still in. Then the starters gave up a 6-0 run. The backups came in and allowed a quick 5-0 run to make it 11-0. It was pretty much even from there. The rest of the game was an insult to basketball. Not meaning it was us being bad or anything, it was just a waste of time. Cronin said guys were doing things that were a result of the game being out of hand. The starters were never all in together the rest of the way I don't think. But they did play some. Our lineups in the last 5 minutes were all new guys, and then walk-ons. Nothing to worry about as Justin said. And if anything, Coach Cronin can use it to stay on some guy's a$$es if they think they're too cool for school.

Cumberland is insane. Just hitting from everywhere, whenever he felt like it.

watched the whole game. Broome could be a work in progress.

this is everyone's fear. Heard on the skinney podcast, Jacob has been running some point. I think this could be a very interesting development if Cane struggles. Could do some big athletic lineups with him at the point. Might help with the big programs

Broome will be fine. Evans needs to worry about playing his own position. He hasn’t been much of a scorer so far in the exhibition games. We have a lot of weapons that can score and create scoring chances for others. Let the games begin on Friday.

Having watched Evans for a couple of years now, I think his future in any pro level would be as a guard. NBA players would eat his lunch inside. He has a good outside shot, handles the ball well, sees the floor well & plays decent defense.

From reading stuff here I thought Broome had a bunch of turnovers but he only had 2. what was so off putting about his game today?

To me, he didn't seem comfortable. Had a chance in transition for an easy layup but passed instead. Cumberland actually did that a couple times too. A little bit of overpassing. Maybe not wanting to be selfish.

Broome is the better player Jenifer is a solid back up, Jenifer banked in a 3 he also air balled a 3 you could look at any player on our team and say they could have played better (other than Cumberland) it looked like we stopped playing in the 2nd cuz it was such a blow out.

There were no injuries to me that’s all I’m concerned with

I agree, Jenifer doesn't shot well, is small, and isn't that quick (he is a great passer tho). He'll be fine against smaller teams but if we are looking to get to the next level it's going to be hard to play him against good teams with size.

yeah, he has a body similar to a Tyreke Evans, different game though. I think Jacob would be fine running point in college.

Moore's stat line doesn't look great but he was in position to make a few plays and was a tad off. Missed back to back 3s after hustling after his miss, and also barely missed Broome on a fastbreak. Good look on the pass but missed him barely. He could've easily ended up with another 3, 1 less TO, and an assist. So his stats are a bit misleading to me. I like what he can do.

It seems like the new pace and PG style is favoring guys like Washington and Cumberland more than Clark and Evans. Hopefully Gary and Jacob are just getting the rest of the team involved because if they were going to show more aggression this year...it would be easiest to try that out against cupcakes.

So far it would look like they aren't changing their philosophy much. They are team players, which is a good thing, but I don't want them getting lost in the shuffle. They are just too good to take a back seat.

Cumberland looked like the best player on the floor. Jenifer had a solid game. Williams continues to get to the rack for easy buckets. Cane struggled with getting shots to drop but he also had 3-4 assists where the other player didn't finish the job. I am not concerned about him or the flow with him in the game.

I think he's going to be a streaky shooter for a while. You could see him getting frustrated when shots weren't falling on 2 or 3 occasions. He just has to remain confident that he can shoot himself out of it. It almost seems to me the more time he has to shoot the worse the results. He does well when he doesn't have to think and he has to get his shot off quicker...which is a good thing when competition gets tougher and defense closing time is reduced.

I saw at least 2 times where he took time to adjust his feet to get in good position but missed the shots. I think that's too much thinking. Just get set and release...results will follow.

Clark and Evans are fine. These exhibition games are useless for them.

I am just happy there is a conversation going on between the two. I agree with you that Broome is the guy we need in the end...but we need Jenifer to feel he is a key player to keep his interest and intensity level up where it is. He is busting his butt to make an impact and he deserves a lot of credit to get from where he was as a frosh to where he is now. I could not imagine a better scenario than to have our bench truly pushing our starters.

If anyone gets a little too cocky...we have guys to bring in to humble them.
