Evans Draft Stock Rising

I would not blame Evans at all if he left. If he came back, he could get the type of buzz blueitt is getting this year

Buzz don’t help draft potential though.

His potential is his potential. He needs to leave and save himself from a career ruining injury before making a dime.

As much as I would love for him stay for his last year I think leaving after this season is the right move for him. His confidence is through the roof right now and he's playing at an elite level. Every game from here on out is on a major network and not on stupid CBS Sports. If we make a deep run and Evans keeps playing the way he is. Mid 1st round easy.

Never said it would but it would be fun to get attention. Probably be on some preseason 2nd team all American list. Wooden watch, etc. sneak in to a top 10-15 pick with a great season. I would go if I was him, but I think those are some reasons he could return. Of course it’s always a risk

one more year at UC & he's a lotto pick - maybe I'm just being selfish, but I think Jacob could use one more year to polish his game & develop an ability to drive to the basket and finish

He is definitely going to test the waters without an agent would be safe to say probably. Personally, I don't expect him to come back.

There have only been 6 seniors selected in the lottery in the past 8 seasons. It's not impossible, but the odds are against it. If he is solidly in the first round, he should go.

I still think he could use another year, minus a huge spot season of course. But he has really started to come out of his shell and take over this season. Just no consistently. I could see him doing it pretty much every game next season. At this point I think it could go either way though. He's definitely headed to the NBA no matter what

the team is also losing kw and gc. he should leave to avoid the rebuild.

He should probably go but it's not a rebuild if we play small ball. We would have 3 starters back on the perimeter. I think we could plug Williams in as a 4th and we would still have backup in Moore and Jenifer..

Can't score great on interior but if we can defend and rebound elite we can be alright.

We need Evans though.

This.

Seniors generally have a ceiling in the draft. For the most part, they want younger dudes.

Add In that Evans has a reason for not having crazy scoring numbers, because we have such a balanced offense. Next year he will asked to do a lot more and also be efficient while getting the other teams best effort

It’s suxks for fans but if Jake wants to change his families life, I wouldn’t wait around for anyone. Go get the money and the opportunity now

If he goes through the process and has some sort of a guarantee from a team in the first round....he has to go. I don't want him to, but he has to.

If he looks to be 2nd round...he's gotta stay.

If it's close to 1st round/2nd round.....that is the tough decision. As a fan I'd say STAY....but if he thinks it's his best shot, he has to go.

To add, let's hope he is able to help take UC for a deep run this March. If he does, it would be a perfect send off to the next chapter for him and us fans.

Just need to see what happens at the combine

If some of the numbers we've seen from him within the program are true the combine is definitely going to help. Most of the top guys skip it, unlike football, so if he goes out and throws up huge numbers it will be a huge help to his stock.

The reality is that he will never be a lottery pick. Those teams aren't looking for solid 6/7/8th man. They need superstars. That's why you see so many freshman go early. Every team is hoping they get the next Devin Booker or James Harden.

He is a perfect fit for the Rockets. They lose Trevor Ariza, Tarik Black, Joe Johnson, Gerald Green, and Mbah a Moute. They take more 3's than twos and need solid shooters/wing defenders to go along with Harden and Paul.

the longer you stay in college, the less future potential you have.

NBA doesn't want seniors, they want young guys who haven't reached their full potential yet - it shows with the number of 1st round seniors being drafted

Jacob can improve his game significantly more in the NBA than he can in Clifton.

I really want him to stay. Another year of Jacob, Cumberland and Broome would be amazing - but he should go if he's getting mid 1st round buzz

Haven't seen really much on him going in first round of any mock drafts, her could definitely talk to the scouts and figure out what they need him to improve on and start working on that. I would rather play my senior year, then get lost in transition in the g league. He can up his draft stuck if he improves next year. Would be dumb in my opinion to leave if your not a first rounder. I think he is smart enough to realize this, coming back another year will not hinder and chances of making the NBA, if anything the lights will be brighter for him next year.
