Many around the recruiting world try to befriend HS and college kids via FB.

I don't think stalking is the correct term here. I think watching is more appropriate. I have lots of former and current Bearcats friended. I almost never talk to them.

Also, just a heads up. Don't friend a recruit on FB. Illegal contact by a representative of the Univ.

True dat, particularly if you're a UCATS member. A casual fan might (emphasize might) be able to get away with it without getting the University in trouble, but certainly not a card-carrying booster.

I've heard that before, but I know it happens quite often. I haven't done such with UC recruits, and I recommend others don't either.
