If Mick Cronin Leaves: Who to Hire?

He also played in the NBA and his brother at Baylor seems to land great recruits, so many he can too.

He's done very well in the horizon good young coach. I think your right he'd come here in a heart beat he's a graduate of valpo but makes dirt money compared to what we pay cronin

If we can't keep Mick we will need someone good. As I mentioned from Jucker to Huggins we had 4 coaches. In that 24 years we had 4 tourney appearances. Would hate to run into another stretch like that.

Just no Travis Ford, Steve Lavin types.

Just a quick list of names being tossed around. No order, not necessarily trying to be as realistic as possible since we're not there yet...

Frank Martin
Bruce Pearl
Bryce Drew
Nick Van Exel
Eran Ganot
Joe Dooley
Dan Majerle
Kenny Payne
Kurtis Townsend
Kenyon Martin (a man can dream)
Archie Miller
Kevin Keatts
Chris Beard
Larry Davis

Feel free to add any I'm missing. Again, I'm sure people can poke holes in several of these, just trying to imagine who would make the list.

Andre Tate at Cincinnati State would be interesting. Not sure if he's ready to jump to a D-I HC job yet...

would your dream guy really be a guy with no coaching experience?

Ha yes. And he'd never have to win a game. Kenyon and God were basically the same thing to me when I was in grade school.
I enjoyed watching him develope as well. Being a coach is a whole different animal. I remember when he played with the Nets he had a few run ins with teammates because he didn't take jokes well. Am I remembering this correctly? Takes a special personality to be a coach.

I remember Chauncey Billups saying in an ESPN interview that he saved JR Smith's life because Kenyon was about to whip his ass for filling his car with popcorn when he was with the Nuggets.
