One name I’m hearing is in the mix at Stanford is UAB’s Jerod Haase.

He's a guy that would be on UC's realistic list...

Frank Martin was excellent KState and in his second year at South Carolina he had them on the verge of the NCAA's. He had a complete rebuild job at USC and has turned things around quickly.

I think Frank is an excellent coach. The problem with him and BP is that they're both on the short list of coaches who currently earn more than Mick. So the Univeristy would really have to pony up to entice either. It's not likely they'd be interested.

One has to wonder if the amount of donations would go up or go down if Mick left. There are a lot of fans who don't like him for one and only one reason, that being he didn't approach Huggs to let him know he was talking to Pitino. Mick has long desired to be a head coach and I think the move to work for Pitino was smart of Mick, but coaching is a smaller fraternity and you should follow protocol and make your manners. There was a lot of very vile sentiment when Mick made the move.

BTW - I'm still holding out hope Mick stays.

Mick's been more successful but AK is at Ole Miss where there is no basketball support or history. AK's a racist POS (so Mississippi fits him to a tee) but probably a better X's and O's coach than Mick.

Numbers wise its not even close.. Mick has been far more successful than AK.

6 straight tourney appearences vs 2 total for AK

1 sweet 16 for cronin
0 for AK

Im a much bigger mick support than AK... But also hard to compare the 2 programs equally as well
