The thing about these Fairleigh Dickinson type games is that the caliber of the opponent is factored into the price of the ticket. They are as low as $4 for Saturday on SeatGeek. If you're a fan at all, that's hard to say no to.
not only that Jake but rarely is the lower section filled for those games. You can sit lower if you want to risk getting asked to move.lol!

As a fan for me I enjoy going to all the games. I certainly like when the games have more meaning but I go to all I can get to.

Pro-Tip: Pull up the SeatGeek app when you get into the arena and find the best available tickets for sale...If they're on sale, no one will be in those seats...

Put me in the category of putting an excellent product on the floor to drive attendance. Scheduling some of the teams mentioned would only marginally help.

Plus...if you give local or regional mid major teams home and home you are asking for a bad loss every once in a while. No thanks...it's a dream game for some of them.

Just need to play well enough to get fans really excited. They will watch Lipscomb if there are no tickets available for UConn.

So when our schedule is filled up with obligated road games against mid level d-1 schools, with no room to fill games with better teams or tourneys, we will be happy?

The schedule doesn't concern me much. I would much prefer returning to a perennial top 15 program with conference and tournament success. Fans will come!

This thread is about Fairleigh Dickinson. Could we talk about the game and not the non-conference schedule? If you want to complain about it, create a thread and go crazy. Thanks.

Yeah that would have been a rough game for Michigan and a good showing for us on prime time, too bad. Guess we will have to settle for throttling this team by 40-50 lol

I hate to lose, but I would take the occasional loss. This is analagous to what $osu does - avoids us.

I like to be the team whom has a tough mindset Of : bring it on. Like Brian Kelly said - we would play OSU in a parking lot. Every single game can't be super tough, bc you do need to " play the RPI game" to get into the tournament, but tough games prepare you for March.

No it's not really. We are an on the same level to OSU in basketball historically...not a mid major. A home and home with them makes sense. It does not make sense for BGSU or Miami to get a home and home with us.

Keep in mind, Mick constantly turns down home-and-homes with Dayton. He only wants to play them at home. So it's not like they're not getting any options here, at least I don't think.

I've said before, I like the tough teams we schedule, but I would like to see less 200+ RPI teams. After the Brown and Albany games, an ideal schedule would have some tough games (RPI 1-75), then sprinkle in a few 75-150 RPI games. It's hard to predict where teams will be in a specific season, so that makes it tough. Not blaming anyone specific, but that would be an ideal schedule to me. Cut down on the absolute garbage, if possible.

UD is a better example but still not the same as OSU vs UC. I just went to look at an article on fansided...where they ranked all time 75 best programs based on national championships, conference championships, final 4s and NCAA appearance etc.

UC was 9 and OSU was 11. Dayton wasn't on the list. We are not little brother to OSU in basketball...but UD would be at least historically speaking.

We can argue the ranking but the point remains. These are not the same thing.

Maybe after Thad gets fired OSUs new coach will actually schedule us
