When you get knocked out of the tournament in the 1st round by an Ivy League team, a Missouri Valley team, and an A-10 team, you can throw those goofy stats and bad luck comments right out the window. When you are a weak recruiter, play a pu$$y schedule, don't win championships, which then leads to low seeds, which leads to difficult 2nd round games, etc., etc., etc., you deserve everything you get. It isn't bad luck. It's deserved.
Mack is a hell of a coach, X's schedule blows ours away every single year, he recruits better, he develops players better, he's offensive minded....which plays better in March, and he routinely kicks Cronin's butt head-to-head. And then we wine about their thugs and nastiness.
I hate Xavier as much as diarrhea, but you have to call a spade, a spade! This is story that never changes much, but the years keep going by while we believe we're on the verge of greatness. We finally have what looks, on the surface, like our most talented team in Mick's tenure, yet already....X handed us our lunch as usual. I "PRAY" that this season doesn't play out like all the others and we cross over into April "highly" disappointed.
If we win the next three, I'll blow it away as just one of those games, and move on in high anticipation of finally enjoying a great season and possibly taking the 1st step back into being one of the country's elite programs. At present, I have very low confidence of that happening. I still like our players and believe in their potential to be great. Now, I need to see the coach get it out of them!
