Start off by going on the road to fresno??

Welcome to the big time CBJ.

I hate opening on the road verse one of the tradition good non BCS teams. We have got to be the only BCS conference champion that has started back to back years on the road.

Not only that, snack on a cupcake and go down to Ralieg for a tough night game in ACC country. Say what you want about the ACC (and I agree it is an over rated conference), it is not easy to go to their stadiums and pull out a W in a night game. The place will be packed and be very loud.

I was hoping to see UC play ISU and Miami before playing Oklahoma. I think a couple more wins before the Oklahoma game with the new coach would help with the teams confidence.

Very brutal but could allow a team like UC to play for a national championship if you have a repeat of last year. OOC schedule could be one of toughest in the land. Not sure about other OOC schedules. Should be exciting.

Technically you are correct. Va Tech won the ACC in 2007. In 2008 Va Tech opened up against ECU in a neutral location (Charlotte, North Carolina). Va Tech won the ACC that year and opened up this past year against Alabama in a neutral location (The Georgia Dome). Now I dont agree that those are actually neutral locations, they seem more like road games to me.

With the seasonal collapse of the b-ball team, I'm really looking forward to football season already. Honestly, I think I enjoy watching football games more because I care less about them. Does that make sense? I may have just drank 4 ounces of rum in 45 minutes.

The point is that I'm not completely devastated when the football team loses a game (except maybe the Sugar Bowl). However, I am crushed when the b-ball team loses, which is quite often these days. This relative lack of emotional investment in the football program allows me to just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I like the non-conference schedule. Not terribly difficult, but not easy either. Much better than Penn State's cupcakes.

Here comes the full version...

Dec. 4 Pittsburgh

November (and 12/4) is going to be a tough stretch. Every one of those games will likely be against a ranked opponent and televised on national TV.
Any chance the Pitt game is played in PBS? I think if all goes well we could very easily sell a 65,000 stadium. I imagine the Yinzers from PA would travel at least 5,000 fans for that one, maybe more.

I also take it the Miami game will likely be homecoming.

UC needs to be at least 6-2 entering the last four games of the season. 7-1 would be outstanding, but the last four will be tough outings coming down the stretch.
Conditioning and player development will be key this year.

Opening on the road at Fresno won't be easy, but as a fan I love this schedule. 7 home games, and 2 easy to travel to away games with WVU & UofL. I love the home games being at Nippert, but the PITT game on DEC.4 should be at PBS. The demand for tix should require a move to PBS. The day will come when the UofL, WVU, and PITT games will have to be played at PBS.

I think I speak for many when I say that anything less than 10 wins in the regular season would be a bit disappointing (to both the fans and players). Our players only know winning. The incoming freshmen saw an undefeated regular season, the second year players are 12-1, The third year players are 23-3, the fourth year players are 33-6.

On last season's schedule, the only two games I was worried about were the wv and pitt. It will be some months before I take a close look but I have to say that the only 3 on this year's schedule that I think would be reasonable to lose are pitt, oklahoma, and to a lesser degree wv. Though I fully expect for yet another uconn scare.

To be completely honest I feel better about this schedule than I would if BK were still here. We will be getting a little bit more of an offensive balance and hopefully give our defense a fighting chance.

No it won't!

I think the Bearcats could very well be undefeated going into the PITT game on Dec. 4.....I don't think the offense will miss a beat, and the defense has gotta' be improved. Just going back to a 4 man front is already an improvement.
