So much for good news. So now we lose are 2nd best players and depth at Center. Hope Nysier has success where ever he goes. If Cumberland doesn't come back we are in major trouble (and even with him back not going to be as good as we could have been if everyone stayed).

Unfortunately every thing is playing out as much of us feared. Brooks leaves, Samari decommits, Jarron declares (would of happened anyway) but I think the odds of him leaving are greater now. Still only one assistant and he's from NKU. Striking out on grad transfers and Juco players. We have a long way to go until the first game in November but a lot of bad news starting off... which is expected, these are the kind of things that happen when a guy who has been here 13 years decides to leave. Just going to have to roll with it and see what JB can do.

Really dumb decision but o well. The hits keep coming.

Not a great start. I assumed everyone would try to run it back. Especially the upperclassmen. I still think the season rest on if JC comes back or not. I would have liked to have brooks but I think that void can be filled to some extent. Especially playing more high tempo

NAS was an excellent defender and was great at protecting the rim, but on offense he was extremely soft, especially around the rim for majority of this season. I think he made a huge jump from sophomore to junior year. He was pretty much just another body off the bench his first two seasons playing behind Gary and Kyle and I was skeptical when it was handed over to Tre and Nas but he actually improved a lot which is why it sucks to lose him now because UC put all this time in on him for him to actually be decent and now that he is good he leaves for another school. IMO if he ends up at Miami who went 14-18 last year he will just be another big in the ACC, I don't think he really changes that team drastically in terms of wins and losses but I hope I am wrong and I hope he does well and doesn't regret his decision.

I think the "if" part of this sentence can officially change to "when". Just curious, if now is the correct time to hit the panic button??

He needs to go to a team that emphasizes offensive rebounding. Last year he was one of the best at Offensive Rebounded percentage UC has had in a long time (better then Gary Clark) and the during conference play he put up numbers that would have had him top ten in the NCAA (6th or 7th I think) if he'd done it all year. He was okay at the beginning of the year, but was becoming great by the end of it. I think he could very well make a big difference in terms of wins/losses if he goes to the right team and continues to develop at or near the rate he developed last year.

He’s going to need someone to pass the ball to after he gets those offensive rebounds. Least I won’t have to scream at him to dunk the ball anymore when he goes up soft and misses.

Kid was a beast on D and becoming one on the boards. No idea why you make this kind of change his senior year. Really weird decision. Wish he would stay and develop a finishers attitude.

Replacing brooks won’t be even in the same universe as replacing Cumberland would be, Brooks was definitely our best center, but defensively Nsoseme is probably just as good and diarra offensively is probably better it will just be finding that middle ground with the too. If Ellie can find a ft stroke and shoot 60% from the line I’d be ok with it, the good thing about him is he knows his role.

I’m just assuming jarron is gone.

Safe assumption at this point. Wouldn't even be surprised Nas already knows something we don't. Of course i could just be looking for any reason a young man could make such an odd choice with his basketball career.

I suspect he thinks he will get a waiver or has someone telling him he will. That's really the only logical explanation I can come up with.

The only other thing I could imagine is Brooks thinks the university didn't do enough to try to keep Mick and wants to make a point by leaving. But if that was the case I'd think other players would be speaking up.

There was briefly a rumor that is was something personal for Brooks and he wanted to move back closer to home. But the fact he's visiting places like Miami calls that into question.
