I am going to assume Brannen will be going all out 94 feet both ways press and break (as advertised). As a result we are going to need about 10 players ready to contribute. On the wing we have 3 quality players to rotate. At PG we will probably need MAW for 10 minutes or so (and I thought he looked good). We will probably have to get by with Sorolla and Vogt logging most of the minutes at the 5. However, when Scott is off the floor what's it going to look like? That's the million dollar question right now. Is Diara ready (didn't look like it)? Davenport (that's a tough first game for him)? Can you run with both 7 footers (I kind of doubt it)? Can you play small for long against OSU?

There is really no one in college basketball playing full-court press as anything other than an occasional gimmick or a desperation move when down late. Most decent teams will just run through a consistent full-court press anyway.

NKU was 143rd in the country in tempo last year; 159th in 2018. That is a lot faster than Mick (about 4 extra possessions a game) but still a lot slower than, say, Duke.

Interestingly, only 5 of the top 20 fastest teams in the country were top 100 teams overall last year; in 2018 it was 3/20. 8 & 9 (2019/2018, respectively) of the slowest 20 teams were top 100.

Let's just hope Wesson doesn't destroy us inside. He is clever and really strong, and we have 3 centers who are huge question marks.

if you're finishing that high in overall tempo, you probably don't play much defense.

94 feet both ways is just an expression that Brannen uses. He also talks about conditioning a lot. Whatever it is...we won't be walking balls up the court and we will at least be picking up and guarding when the ball comes on the court.

Our guys have been used to getting breaks on offense when we walk it up. 10 seconds wasted. When we got to the last 10 seconds many of the players just had to sit back and watch Jarron. They will all be involved this year and most of them on both sides of the ball. I don't see any of them getting much more than 30-32.5 minutes on a nightly basis. Maybe Jarron and Scott have the best chance. I could see McNeal, Williams, and JC2 in the 23-28 range.

After that it's going to depend on who's actually ready to play at this level. I don't see anyone else topping 15 mpg.

Lmao, optimistic about the rest but you think they’ll double up the spread tonight.

I think OSU is really good and I think we will get better the more we play, also think osu is the best team we will play this year

Just saw Alonzo gaffney on their sideline, wonder how much pt he sees today, he looked real good on YouTube

Not what makes you think they’re really good, they’ve got one really good player, the rest in unknowns

We are definitely pushing the pace. We just need to settle down a little and our shots will start falling.
