You want to stop a team from pressing, stop them from scoring or break the press for baskets. I agree they need to get better at getting easy buckets on the press break but when St. John's was pressing you didn't have Dixon or SK on the floor and quite frankly Bishop and Davis don't do much offensively in transition. A couple times they got some easy buckets.
Early in the year we got transition hoops off of our press. You have to make baskets to set it up. Press 101.

Read up on how UC's schedule looks like "murder's row" (Gordan Lee is a fucking moron) compared to the patsies OSU plays before heading into, and including, the overrated B10 every year. Put on some Ace of Bass, relax, and just stare at your Kirk Herbstreit poster for awhile. Whatever. Just quit ripping on UC. WE ALL GET IT.

Mick is a great coach, Mick was coaching McDonald's All Americans when he was 20 years old at ABCD Camp. Mick beat St. John's at St. John's, Notre Dame could not do it, Georgetown could not do it, WVU could not beat St. John's at WVU. Big East road wins are great wins. Providence had lost 17 Big East games in a row until beating Louisville at home last night. Ask Rick Pitino how tough it is to win on the road in the Big East.

I'll bet when you were in 6th grade you read (about half) his pyramid of success book didn't you. Now you get on here, and act like you played for the guy? What gives? How have you specifically learned from one of the best?
Ready2go, I'm going to break something down for you. If you root for OSU football, and UC basketball then that's all you need to say for me. Don't get you panties all in a bunch, but you , your family, whoever is a bunch of bandwagon jumpers. So of course you probably hate the team now. The only reason you liked them before was b/c they were so good. It obviously wasn't b/c loyalty to a school. Your old man probably always like OSU (they were always good) and then when UC started up in the 90's you all jumped on the train.
Answer this: If UC plays OSU in football, who do you root for? Or even the opposite, if UC plays OSU in basketball, who do you root for? (Seriously would love an answer)
If the answer is OSU to the first, and UC to the second, or if it's not at least, "I don't know" then you're not a true UC fan. Period. So, why don't you take the next step and just root for UK basketball? I've come across plenty of those retards around town. Join them, and then find a OSU/UK board to bombard with the obvious.
OSU football and UC basketball? Dude can't even get something as simple as being a fan right, but he's going to come on here and teach people about how the game is played. What a joke.
I'm a big Duke Basketball fan, and Auburn football fan! I also wear Ed Hardy shirts and listen to Nickleback.

Can you break this down in grown up paragraphs please? We've all graduated from 2nd grade.
I've learned from someone who went 302-22-3. Now that does not make me a great coach. Nor do I want to be a coach. But there are things you can learn from a successful person. Its not all about x's and o's. Its about getting your team in position to win games and to compete. Getting them physically and mentally prepared to take the court, home or away. Getting your players to do what it is you want them to do.
Everyone on here knows what is wrong with the offense. We are not the ones getting paid thousands/millions to make that work. I like to put things in perspective.
If I were a bandwagon fan. I'd be rooting for OSU bball. Super fan

Actually, if you were a true fan you would be rooting for OSU in basketball, or UC in football, whichever one compliments the other. You wanna know why? B/c the success of OSU basketball program affects their football program. And the success of the UC football program affect the UC basketball program. Simple as that. Not to mention they all affect the respective schools and communities.
But you're just jumping all over the place. How much can you truly love OSU if you'd root against their school in basketball?
And no one cares who you learned from, if you don't even have the guts to say their name. (I'm not bothering to look up who won 300 girls HS games)
The funny thing is this, I never heard anyone (save Ralph) say they thought the team looked great or that the game was greatly coached, but yet you come on here and basically argue with yourself. You're talking about getting prepared, X's and O's, blah, blah, blah, but to who? Mostly everyone just took joy in the fact we won, which you seem to have a problem with.

Unless there are ties in the basketball league that your mentor coached, I am guessing he/she is not a basketball coach. Does tutelge under him/her make you an expert on coaching every sport (womens volleyball, swimming, archery, etc) or all your talents only applicable to football and basketball. Oh please enlighten us, great coaching wizard.

I was not the one who mentioned who I was coached by. I was backing up an attack by a fellow poster about being a keyboard coach.

Who said Mick had the team perfectly prepared? Who are you disagreeing with?

I don't know what real world you live in, but there aren't many people in my real world that want to kick my ass. Now on the fairy tale world of this message board, I'm sure there are more than a few posters who want to kick my ass. Some husbands, too.
I critique games. That is what I do. I try to start conversation on how to fix it. For example: Biggie played well in 8 minutes. Where was he the rest of the game?
Poster David had an actual response such as Biggie sat through a half and may not have been capable of playing the 2nd and it was reasonable. Other peoples responses are youre an OSU fan, you hate UC. That is childish. Try and respond with actual facts and not dumb posts. Quite frankly I dont care what you think of me. I do however like to have intelligent debates.
