Yah sports reference is nice but statsheet was really cool. You could track which players were in the game together and their plus minus numbers during those minutes. Trying to track the stat when subs play a lot of minutes together in the second half is not really telling a lot.

Sports reference does the box plus minus under advanced stats but it's almost useless really. I wish statsheet was still around.

Under advanced stats they (sports reference) also do PER, win shares, efg percentage, and many others. It's about as good as it gets really. Statsheet was really nice for plus minus.

Doesn't sound like a good match up for Kyle. He may not be able to play enough defense to get many minutes. We'll see.

This would certainly be a nice road win if we can pull it off. Having a week to prepare should help us.

Devin Davis is back playing right? If so, I agree with you that Tre will get a lot of run. For a while there, they had been using some slugs at the 5 to fill in.

Absolutely. However, it will be worth it if it helps them get the W at Houston on Saturday.

Agreed... We've had some nice breaks lately so the guys should be rested up for the stretch. A couple of tough games coming up. If we can somehow take both we will be in very good shape.

UC - 73

Houston - 64

We should run the table in the AAC if we play up to our potential from here on out. This conference is very bad this season.

It's hard to play to potential every night but I sort of agree here. We have 2 tough road games and one home game. The rest we should have a significant advantage.

I would love to see us with 3 losses or better in conference when it's all said and done. That would put us at worst 25-6. I think that's a 5 seed. If we can win one more than that I think we can be a top 4 seed. Perhaps even 25-6 with a conference tourney win would get us a top 4?

Coach may have come around on the whole ditching the zone against these kind of teams thing. That's promising.

Washington made that decision for him probably. There were a couple of games that helped him decide to extend the D as well. When Scott, KJ, Clark, and Evans are in...We might be the best D in the country. Of course we aren't great on offense at those times...But it's nice to know we can put these guys on the floor when we are getting scored on.

I said before the season started that I couldn't imagine this team would lose more than 8 games when I looked at the schedule. Assuming we take care of business and don't lay any real eggs I think 25-6 or better is very much within reach for this team.

It's very hard to run the table in conference but with the exception of UC there are no good teams in the AAC. Houston, SMU and Memphis are tough teams and you could walk away with an L in any of those games but none of them are good teams. This could be the year that the AAC gets 1 team in the tourney.

I'm sure the goal for now is conference champs, anything less for this team would be a disappointment.

Clark defensive POY in AAC

KJ per coach hands down best defender on team

Evans per coach best defender as frosh since he's been coach

Scott is like Justin Jackson 2.0

I know Cronin talks about KJ being the best on-the-ball defender, but from what I've seen this year - I think Evans is better. He's just as athletic, is slightly taller and creates more steals than KJ (although I wouldn't be surprised if KJ creates slightly more deflections).

This is not a knock on KJ; just a statement that Evans is a plus defender as well as the best shooter on the team.

You could be right... I'm just going by coach comments. However, so far this year KJ and Evans are virtually identical in steals. Evans is better at blocks though.

Either way...They are both really good on D

Cumberland certainly still gets beat a lot, but he's impressed me lately deflecting passes. You can't teach his instincts.

He's leading the team in steals per 40 minutes. Not to mention he gets his hand on some blocks too. Outside of our bigs...He's next in blocks. Outside of our PGs he's next in assists.

Safe to say instincts are solid. Rebounds very well. 3rd in scoring per 40. Not high in turnovers. All around great player with not great on ball D.

Evans does gamble a lot more than KJ does. When Evans gets a steal and is in transistion, it's almost 100% a basket. That said I have seen Evans also gamble and fail and leave a shooter wide open

What I think KJ does so damn well is collapse on a driver and just take the ball cleanly from his hands. Like we are one of the best teams are just yanking the ball from your hands.

If you show the ball on a drive, Troy or KJ gonna just 2 hand snatch from you. Some thing you don't see a lot in basketball

This would be a great way to start conference play. 3-0 and two road wins against Temple and Houston.
