It’s interesting that Mike Young is in his 2nd year at VTech and has a top 40 team that is 14-4 and in 3rd place in the ACC with a top 50 offense and defense.

Mike Young brought a stud with him in Keve Aluma, then another good player in Cattoor, and the program already had Tyrece Radford (but he recently got suspended indefinitely so he might not be back).

It would have been fantastic if Brannen had that kind of talent at NKU and then they followed him over. But he did not, Wafford was top 25 good Mike Young's last season there.

We basically flipped places with Va Tech from last year to this year.

Listened to the Cincy slangin podcast. Had b fox on it. Interesting. B fox isn’t high on brannen by the way. Made some good points. Seems to think Davenport is gone also

Lol so now we’re mid major where players look to go play better competition elsewhere? One thing I give Brannen credit for he doesn’t seem afraid to play good teams.

What exactly did he say about Davenport? I mean that would be a shocker. It could also mean that Tari would stay and play the 4 and CJB doesn't want Davenport at the 3. But JD is probably CJB's biggest fan (on the outside) at least that's how it seems right now.

Seems to think tari and Davenport are gone. Davenport was supposedly really good friends with Harvey. I always enjoy b fox. He always seems to have a good point of view. He did not have many good things to say about brannen.

He kinda hinted that brannen was kind of a jerk. Which I’ve never heard, but if we have a Gregg Marshall situation, let’s find someone else. Obviously, it’s just hard because we don’t know. He didn’t say he was a jerk, but I felt like he wanted to

If Davenport and Tari both leave then Brannen will be getting serious heat to be gone. If either of them leave it will be bad enough but both would be hard to overcome.

Agree. If that happens, I think I agree with skyblade to some extent. If everyone leaves, and no one is here, why not ust go a different direction at that point.

I would start a Go Fund Me at that point and raise the money to buy out the contract.

Worst thought of Day......

End the rest of the season now!!!

Mid Major or less talent with NBA Attitudes lol!

Have a Buyout Press Conference

Start a real Coaching Search with Coaches with ties to remarkable recruiters and recruits

This Shi_ that's going on now doesn't bode well for better Conference Dreams.

This is what happens when you get made to order coaches from Big Lots Lol!

It's an interesting podcast. Pretty much the polar opposite of the BCJ podcast in terms of optimism (or lack there of).

If B. Fox is right and Davenport and Eason leave, then it's time for Brannen to go. Start the go fund me. Davenport and Eason leaving may lead to a mass exodus (if at that point it's not already qualified as a mass exodus).

There's no way Brannen gets a chance to burn it down and rebuild. Maybe he just got unlucky or needs to learn. But in the end, coaches don't get two chances to rebuild at UC's level.

It also sounds like Brannen is not a popular coach among the players. Is that an accurate take? Hard to say, it sounds like their primary source is Jarron and we know Jarron does not like Brannen. But guys like Sorolla, Rap, Harvey and Diarra tell a similar story, by their departures if not by their words.

At this point it's waiting for year 3 and seeing what happens. But it seems unlikely Brannen's going to turn it around.

Just getting to the end of the podcast. Apparently this is an anonymous (departed mid-season) player quote about Brannen "Even his assistant coaches are terrified of him, think of how the players feel".

Is Brannen a monster in the locker room? Again, hard to say. I wouldn't have really thought so before listening to the podcast. But between Jarron, the mid-season departures and the anonymous player quotes (that may or may not be accurate), they tell a pretty compelling story.

Yeah, no one knows. I would have never thought brannen is a terrible person but I also have no idea. B fox made some good points. These guys found it so terrible that they had to leave right now. I also think that doesn’t look good on the player but it shines a different light on things. From someone that has a little more insight than us, not much but some. And he has no incentive to please brannen, like chad does

If the player left the team, why would you not name him? It seems just as suspect as BCJ podcast which painted a brighter picture.

According to the podcast, the player asked to remain anonymous. Could be any number of reasons a player would want to remain anonymous.

I think this spring will give us some clarity. If multiple players transfer out, it pretty much confirms that there's something going on in the locker room and Brannen is probably the problem.

If players remain and Brannen recruits well. Then hopefully it's a sign that the problem was the players who left and nothing bad has gone around the recruiting world about Brannen.

If there were locker room problems I would think this would have surfaced at NKU with a mass exodus. And why would the coaches follow him if they were scared of him?

This one isn’t making a lot of sense

Everyone was scared of Huggins and Cronin. I’m not sure what the issue is here. Cronin would curse your mother in front of a million viewers.

If you don’t know the full story, which we don’t, it’s hard to get a complete picture. I think we can say for certain, there are a lot of issues. Players leaving, zero recruits l, team just lost by 40, team sucks. Brannen is going to have a chance to fix it, but the more problems that are raised, the hotter his seat becomes.

I don’t care about toughness or culture. Lot of that is just words people say. People told me about how great xaviers culture is and now people are wondering if they are going to make the tournament. Of course there’s something to those things but teams don’t have to love each other or be the toughest players ever. Just be good at basketball.

The one thing brannen had going for him in my opinion is he brought in a good core. If all or most of those guys leave, now what? Realistically we are talking about 3 more years before we might be good. If we get good recruits. Also Probably hard to get recruits after the whole teams leaves.

I was specifically talking about “being terrified “ by the coach. I mean Huggins and Cronin were likely two of the most verbally abusive coaches in the ranks. Brannen has guys with 4 or 5 turnovers every game when it only took one for certain Cronin players.

Just not buying the terrifying quote. But maybe he pulls a Glock in practice or body slams players.

Not sure I'm buying much of this... Davenport getting an opportunity he won't get elswhere... In his own back yard.

I could see Mick's assistants being terrified of him... Not seeing that with John. At all.

Could be wrong. Who knows. Alot of rumors everywhere when your team sucks.

That’s true, they definitely arent terrified when they are committed dumb fouls or throwing the ball to the other team.
