When are you coming back to BCJ?

Banned for my dissenting views against state run media. Though I kinda purposely triggered the ban via a nice tweet to Chad

It’s cool though. 120 bucks a year for literally zero inside info Is way over priced.

2021 goal is to reduce all UC related spending to zero. When the product deserves my money, it will get it

Can’t blame you. I don’t know see how the $120 would be worth what chad brings. I find out the info 12 hours later for free haha.

Mason has been gutted on defense. But I’m not blaming him. Whole team and coach are not good.

Mason is brought up because every time he scored a few free throws in our win streak against the bottom of the league, some one is there is take a jab at me and sing his praises.

It’s all in good fun.

But I don’t blame this on a player,

This is soulless basketball. Lethargic uninspired and just despressing to watch and those traits generally start at the top.

I don't think you are as important as you think you might be. Mostly it's correcting your errors and alternate opinions of view being given.

It’s awfully weird that certain posters think of me when we win.

I dig it though. All in good fun homie

I think we should recalibrate and run everything through Eason from here on out. I have been saying this for months but I don’t want to Vogt on the court again.
I would rather see Vogt than the excrement on I saw on the court and the bench today.

Vogt was part of the excrement. How about that early second half play where Houston had a guy under then rim and both Vogt and Williams backed off and let him have an uncontested layup.

Nobody, besides possibly DeJulius looked like they belonged on the court against a team like Houston.

Just looking at stats here. MAW had zero rebounds, assists or points and 2 TO's in 27 minutes (one steal). In 14 minutes (half the time) Mason 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 TO and no other stats. At what point??

Rebounding was atrocious!! Mason not the answer but MAW had a really bad game. Mason has not had that type of game yet.

In the post-game Brannen hinted that he may start worrying more about next year than about this year. I'd guess what that looks like is probably Vogt and Keith (and anyone expected to transfer) spending more time on the bench.

In terms of the season, the real test will be how we respond against Tulsa. Can we forget this game and bring it next game? Can we avoid total collapse if Tulsa goes ahead with a run?

We may have seen part of why Diarra sits on the bench today. He was one of those who decided to just try to do it himself and play point-forward. Didn't go well. Though DD, Keith and Davenport all played a lot of 1v5 on offense and they are all supposed to be team leaders.

The biggest disappointment of this game was how little players seemed to care. That early second play where Vogt and Keith backed off and let Houston have an uncontested layup was the epitome of our season. Our seniors have not brought it in terms of energy, effort or desire. Our whole team has not brought it in terms of energy, effort or desire. Is it a reflection of our coach? Hope not, but it's starting to seem like it. Vogt is in year 4 under Brannen.

In terms of Brannen's career. The biggest worry is still recruiting. There's talk of Vogt coming back as a "stop-gap", how big is the gap (and why hasn't it been fixed) if you have a stop-gap in year 3 (though all indications are this is probably just fan rumors anyway and Vogt will leave)?

I get it, year 2, young players and Covid. We weren't expected to be good, so Brannen shouldn't be fired for it. I don't want Brannen fired for year 2, no matter how bad it may get. But I think firing him for not having any recruits and not seeming to have a plan for year 3 is justifiable.

I think the program is in a bad spot right now. Some of it COVID related, trying to build a program in the middle of COVID is hard. Some of it brannens fault. Losing guys, missing on guys. Now guys are just giving up. You should never lose by 40 unless guys aren’t trying.

The only way to clean this up is to clean house. If guys don’t want to be here, get them out. Bring in all high school or guys with multiple years left. Have a true rebuild from scratch. The one year rentals aren’t working. Get guys that want to be here. I’m not saying that’s going to be easy or even work but that’s what needs to be done.

Yeah, MAW had an ORtg of zero in 27 minutes! Keith had an ORtg below 40 in 28 minutes, which I think is even worse since he had a usage around 30. We have to get an upgrade at wing next year. MAW is not good enough to play more than 25 minutes (or even 15) on a good team. I like Mason better than MAW, but I don't think he should be starting or playing 25+ minutes either. And Keith is clearly not cut to be a #1 option.

DeJulius continues to show that he can't shoot unless it's a floater in the lane. That's ok if we can bring in a wing scorer. He can't continue to be a shoot first player next year though. Saunders looked surprisingly good, though he did foul out in only 22 minutes.

This game also made it abundantly clear that we have no viable 5 on the roster. Diarra can't be our starting 5 next year. We have to bring in someone else. I think Eason can be a pretty good 4 if we get a center who just handles typical 5 man duties like interior/pnr defense and rebounding.

Honestly mason looks like he can be a good college player. Not even saying that to troll. I get his ceiling is low but he can still be a good college player. Guy that just does things that win games. Kind of a Troy caupain with less athletic ability but better shooting.

Not saying your wrong, but Brannen can't afford a full rebuild. He needs to win next year, if he can't the majority of the fan base will turn on him. The AD who hired him is not longer here and the new AD probably isn't going to stick his neck out to keep him.

If cleaning house is the way to go, than Brannen is the first on the list to go.

Brannen inherited a team that was averaging 30 over the last 3 seasons. His expectations were/are high, perhaps unrealistically high. If he goes, the new coach gets lower expectations and a longer time to turn things around. Maybe it's not fair, but it's how things go.

I just can't see Brannen turning this around next year. He's made too many mistakes. Maybe he is a good coach, but the difference between success and failure for a new coach can be as simple as if you hit or miss on a few recruits. Brannen has missed on more than his fair share and his gamble of Harvey didn't pay off.

A whole lot needs to go right for him to win in year 3. The lack of energy, hustle and defense are things he should and needs to fix. Houston was winning 50-50 balls when they were up 40. Having no viable center on the roster for next year, Brannen overrecruited guards and now it's showing. No recruits for next year, Brannen essentially needs to hit on 3 transfers for us to have a shot.

We have a few good players on this team. DD, Davenport, hopefully Eason once he developed. But against Houston the talent disparity seemed to be pretty clear. We have a lot of players who look like they'd be better suited to a mid-major than playing against a high level team like Houston.

From what I can remember Mason did not score a point until UC was 40 points behind with 8 min to go.

When Houston was actually playing competitive in the first half, he didn’t score a point and got toasted multiple times on Defense. This team was awful when the game was on the line and mason was a part of that.

His stat line is absolutely deceiving.

Yeah, early in the game it was clear Mason was one of the guys Houston had targeted to attack when they were on offense. Though he wasn't the only guy getting beat.

The Houston game plan was the same one we've seen before the layoff. Drive to the lane, draw Vogt away (and if he is there, just take it sright at him without fear). The first half was basically a Houston layup line and Mason was part of the reason.

I think you have a poor grasp on the “majority of the fan base”....and how it “turns”. Jhub has similar disillusions.

Most fans are not fair weather like yourself. They are deeply ingrained in the program and won’t quit at the first sign of adversity.

I have been a Browns fan since the 70-s- 80s and I never quit. If we lose a couple of fair weather fans with no tolerance for taking steps back....good riddance!

First, the 30 wins a year is a little over rated. Not saying that isn’t a great accomplishment but it’s not like our schedules were really hard either.

I don’t think we need a completely winning year next year, we need something to build on, we need hope. We need a team that improves throughout the year, wins some games we shouldn’t, and a clear future. We don’t have that now. Players leaving, (our future), seniors that aren’t that good or checked out, who knows. We need a year like Wichita had 2-3 years ago. 6-7 freshmen, throw them to the wolves, and let them improve. This half in-half out thing isn’t working
