They are 7-10 overall and 0-6 in the conference. But they only have 4 losses by double digits (we have 3). And those losses have come @Harvard, @Tulsa, and twice against Memphis. We should definitely beat them, but we can't completely overlook them. Solid defensive rebounding is what should guarantee us a win. I'd like to see Cobb get himself some good looks.

I just hope the guys are focused and not too happy about the last win against Temple. As many coaches say, sometimes the most difficult aspect of coaching is coaching the players after big wins. They tend to loose focus and rest on the past win rather than concentrate on the next opponent. I respect Houston and Coach Sampson. They are looking to make their season with a big win over Cincinnati. With the overall 24-1 record against UC, they are due. They almost beat us during the two games last year. I just hope we are ready.

Larry Davis said yesterday's practice was the best the team had. The players were very focused and had an extra spring in their step. Hopefully that translates to a strong victory on Wednesday.

Their starting 5 is pretty solid. Its their bench that is pretty weak. That Chicken guys for Houston worries me a little bit. He can ball with the anyone on the floor.

Love that the team is reportedly energized in practice following what has to be the greatest performance we'll see all year. With that said, we just need to play bearcat ball to beat Houston at home by 10+, which I expect.

I am looking for KJ to continue solid work on both ends, that would be very encouraging to see him string it together. Other than that, Ellis keeping his head on straight are honestly my 2 watch points.

I agree about KJ and Ellis.

The coach(s) need to address Ellis' temper tantrums before they get addressed by referees or the NCAA because they got out of hand. He has an outburst of frustration it seems like almost every game. I don't recall Gary Clark having even one of those. I read a quote today that puts this into perspective "The problem is not the problem...the problem is your attitude about the problem".

Looks like we're all on the "looking to see KJ continue to improve" bus haha, because that's basically what I was going to say. I want to see him continue to show he can be that guy that we saw towards the end of last year. He definitely got some swagger back from last game. Really hoping that turns him into a confident player. His % may not be as high as others, but I trust him more on a wide open 3 than anyone on the team. I think he'll get hot here.

Funny that after last game, we didn't hear any bearcatboy remarks about KJ's performance....

KJ still tends to hold the ball too much imo. I'd like to see him make quicker decisions when he gets it.

Agreed. I would like to see him shoot more free throws too. He needs to drive to the basket more, cut to the basket without the ball.

I remember Sanders got 2 layups last game because he cut to the basket without the ball. I would love to see more movement like that.

I feel this way about Ellis. If he was quicker to make a decision it may help with travels etc.. and may help him score more, be more effecient.

Yeah. Ellis needs to master the "be quick but don't hurry". He is tall enough and long enough that when he is facing up, he will always be able to get a clean look if he stays under control. It just seems like at this point, no matter where he catches it (maybe with the exception of the baseline) he wants to finish right at the rim. That is never going to work in D-1 basketball and beyond.

Sanders was great. He either looked to the post or swung the ball back out quickly. The standing with it and scanning does nothing but let the defense set back up. I remember in 2nd grade, the first thing I ever learned in my YMCA league was "if you're standing around, you're doing something wrong".

I'm not aloud to say anything but I will anyway he is still very bad do you know why he scored do much? Look at the final score! He can not play good against good teams in a close game, hasn't done it yet so until he proves me wrong he's still the weakest link!

1st half was a 1 point game and KJ had 8.

2nd half was a 30 point game and he had 6...
