I'm not watching the game at a business function and just catching bits and pieces. Why did Ellis get ejected?

Flagrant 2. Essentially just pushed a driving Houston player at the hoop wit both hands. Didn't attempt to block it at all. Didn't seem entirely intentional to me but it was just a complete lapse in thinking.

Really glad to see Shaq playing with a sense or urgency. If it were not for him I'd bet we'd be down 15 right now. But watching this team right now....just doesn't feel like UC basketball. This is the worst energy I have ever seen from a Bearcat sideline ever. Ive watched Cincinnati basketball all my life and this feels foreign.
The positives: As someone already stated...we are a 2nd half team. We are only down three. Now in the 2nd half lets run, protect the ball, and shoot a reasonable percentage from the line and we will win. We are going to force fouls.

This staff and the players have allowed a prevailing dysfunction. One thing Mick Cronin has been good at over the years is dealing with this sort of thing. This simply isn't the same team of four-five weeks ago

I really think UC doesn't have D1 talent! The wings are weak with the ball and passive. Is it are facilities why we can't get talent?

Here's a short list:

1. It's style of play. NBA prospects don't want to play for Norman Dale.
2. A coach with natural charisma and salesmanship. You either have it, or you don't.
3. You need to take some risks on character guys, even if you get some flack from the media.
4. You need to develop the talent you get into NBA prospects. Like Yancy Gates. Recruiting was a lot easier for Huggins after Van Exel and Blount.
5. You need to develop AAU relationships, nothing illegal, but it's an ongoing marketing strategy.
6. You need to win in March.
7. You need to sign with Nike, even if it means you make less money as coach.
8. You need to make a commitment to basketball, which means it's the number one focus of your athletic department.

Arena is probably the least important thing. Rupp is a dump.

Half of this is right. The other half is bullshit.

This thread is not turning into a rear view mirror and coach bashing. Be warned.
