His coaching staff is complete. UC's first recruiting class under his reign is pretty much done. What grade would you give him thus far?

I will give him the same grade that I got for a lot of classes at UC:

I

What I want to see out of Jones is how well he develops players, his in-game coaching and how the team responds in tough situations.
So far, with his coaching staff and recruiting; these are things that I expect a BCS level coach to do; he has met the minimum requirements for the course, the mid term is due in august and finals are next january.

It's hard to tell. I do think it would have been the best class uc ever had if Kelly had stayed. A round of rum and coke for everyone.

How do you guys feel about the overall hire? Was there another person you were more interested in(that we had a shot at) or is this pretty much the perfect guy at this time.

I think it was the perfect guy- the way he had CMU going the offense is simular to what the players know now and with what he did with his qb(I dont know how to spell the kids name so I wont try) colloras could have a monster 2 years.

You ALL better say he is the BEST coach in the country... OR ELSE!

ha just kidding, I really think Butch has done everything I had hoped for thus far.

His halftime entrance at the ND game was awesome. Recruiting has been solid and he may not be done yet...;)

I wish we could have kept Jibreel Black and the Brown's but given the circumstances I'm pleased with his first class. He convinced the majority of the class to stay and that included uber talented reciever DyJuan Lewis who had a solid list of offers and he could have easily went elsewhere. He also netted us Cody Kater who I think can be very good as well as Munchie. Too really judge Butch's recruiting ability were probably going to have to wait an entire year from today because lets face it, he really only had about 7 weeks to develop relationships with kids, their coaches and their parents. That is not enough time.
