That is correct, its basically the same model as football as in this is basically a free year for all. Chad has said the likelihood of those two returning along with Rap is highly unlikely.

Talent plus intangibles is more of CJB's philosophy from the looks and sound of things. That's why he's not offering much because he can't get a full feel of a players overall mentality. If you can walk him around campus for a day and have dinner with the family a lot more time to really dig deep and get past the fluff of what a player might say on a 1 hour Zoom call.

Whose worth more. A 4 star with attitude issues or a high 3 star with a much better attitude. One can be a cancer in the locker room and the other can be the opposite.

Being the sole big time play maker on the squad I would guess Keith is going pro for sure. I hope for him it's NBA. He's going to really improve his stock.

Vogt will probably go pro as well and get paid somewhere. He already tested the market so I doubt the college experience is all that enticing to him to return and I don't think his stock is on the rise...about even.

Interesting our adjusted D isn't too bad, It's 46 on Kenpom and 26 on T-Rank. Offense is 80 and 94 respectively. I am not sure we are all convinced our D is not worse than these ranks but...

That was with 2 of 3 games of Rap starting with Vogt. If we plug Eason in there to start and for more minutes I think that will solve some problems. Then we just have to get our guards keep stepping up their effort to stay in front. I think Keith, David, Mika, Mikey, and Zach should all be capable of playing solid on ball D.

I would hope we can get into the top 40-50 in both O and D by seasons end. But we are going to have to make some 3's to do that. And we could use one more player other than Keith to be able to create points on demand.

Those ranks are mostly preseason assumptions at this point, which is why they are so different. DePaul has a top 60 offense and defense on T-Rank, but they haven't played a game yet. I can't remember how long it takes for the rankings to only affect the current season, but I'm guessing it's at least a dozen games. It's not possible to create a robust ranking system with 12 games or less **cough** football **cough**

Barttorvik does a last 10 games (and I'm assuming it just counts this year) which has our defense at 85 and offense at 109. Thats probably a lot closer than the 26 Barttorvik has our defense.


Which again as sedz points out doesn't really say a lot after a couple games but at least doesn't have any last season influence.

Even that is adjusted for the opponent strength, which uses preseason assumptions. For just this season you'd have to use raw efficiency, where we are 128 on offense and 129 on defense. In that world, Grand Canyon and IPFW are top 10 defenses.

RPI is only based on this year. Alabama A&M and Mercer are the top 2 teams in the country

I was thinking those numbers looked off...LOL!

I order to be an at large selection we will have to be great in at least one of them or good at both. Right now we are none of the above. I know it's early and CJB is still tinkering.
