The last 2 games he has played really well. Here are his stats:

Total Minutes: 31
FGM/FGA: 6-10
3FGM/3FGA: 3-6
FTM/FTA: 2-2
Total Rebounds: 3
Assists: 1
Turnovers: 1
Blocks: 1
Fouls: 1
Total Points: 17

Really like what he has given the team and how he's been looking to score more. Still think he can be a better rebounder and better finisher close to the basket with his frame. He's going to quietly be a good player here at UC.

I agree his play has got better the past couple games. Like you said, 3 rebounds is a little of a let down and is probably the most important on Cronin's list. There is something that keeps me from really liking this kid. I think its his lack of athleticism, it appears I have a better vertical than him. (probably not but still lol) I sure would like to see him work on his quickness in the off season, he has turtle speed. I like his shot though. The arc on his shots are amazing, he would be amazing shooting on the gun.

He's going to be one of those guys you don't notice that gives you 8-12 points a night, a couple assists, and 3-5 rebounds. Then you look back at the box score and say "Sanders played a solid game." He worked hard on lateral quickness and his body this past offseason and I expect that'll continue. He's smart and that'll help cover his physical limitations.

Agreed. I think he really needs to boost his rebounds and he would be on Cronin's praise list. I hope he learns how to use his body to get good position because his size is there. I feel comfortable with him on the floor tho, he's got old man game. He is slowly developing into Bishop.

Which is what I'm on record saying he would be, and others, when he was signed. Maybe not defensively as good, but I think he'll give you that type of stat line nightly. Really excited about him and Shaq, along with Strickland, Caupain, Mormon, and Johnson. Land Lawrence and I'm really loving life.

Jeff, I think you and I have been the only vocal supporters of Sanders on this board. Your thoughts echo mine. I've always said he's a guy that you don't realize his contribution until you see it in the stat sheet. The 3 rebounds is surprising because I watch him move without the ball and he's always positioning himself in the right spots. He understands spacing and where to be for rebounds when a shot is missed. So few players know this. Jackson is one who is good at that as well. Half of rebounding is being in the right spot, but that doesn't always have to be luck. I honestly would like to see Sanders get the nod right now in the rotation instead of Rubles. I like Rubles but right now I don't think he's mentally in the spot he needs to be in. It's in his head that he can't hit that long shot and it's affecting his game.

Ya i think it was a matter of nerves for him, now that hes played in a couple games hes come into his own, still think he can be a little quicker. He will be a matchup problem come his senior year at the sg position, and he will be able to post up and out rebound the people who guard him.

I think Rubles, Shaq, Sanders and Nyarsuk are all in the same boat. They need time on the floor. Frankly, I think if JJ could harness himself and play some controlled, consistently inspired basketball that TRub wouldn't be getting the minutes he does. I think if Mick had his druthers those guys would see 10-12 minutes a game and be able to grow into things. The ineptness of the offense and Mdbodi's/Jacksons foul issues have forced Mick to mix and match more than he'd like I think.

He might not be as good defensively as Rashad but I think he will be a better offensive player than Rashad.
