KJ is going to have to not be the player he has been the last 6 games if we have any chance of doing anything

Looking at this teams record and the scores of their games indicate they have played some very good teams and lost some very close games. This will not be a cake walk.

KState played the weakest non-conference schedule ever. Only reason they made the field is bc they racked up wins early against crappy teams. They can definitely keep it competitive but there's zero reason to believe we shouldn't win if we play like we have all year.

-Washington stay out of foul trouble
-Deflection city
-Getting a few fouls on DJ Johnson would be a huge bonus. We already have an advantage in the paint as is, but they're dead meat without him.

We have to play fast. Not necessarily tempo wise as much as just being quick and swarming on defense. The defense had too many lapses vs SMU. Gotta crank the energy level back up. Stokes and Brown will be a nice backcourt for them, but they're not as experienced as our backcourt. Caupain better show up. Period. They also don't have any NBA players. That with Clark being hurt is why a lot of people think we lost last year to St. Joe's. And St. Joe's was a better seed, and we weren't as good as we are this year.

UC 67
KState 62

We go up on them early and lead the whole game except for maybe a minute or 2.

After seeing the game last night does anyone wish we would be playing Wake Forrest instead? I could care less I think we would beat either

Obviously you would think less of the team that loses. But that doesn't mean Wake wouldn't win if they replayed that game right now. I think the Wake game vs us would be higher variance. But that can be a little scary. We know what we're getting from KState. They are solid most of the time, but nothing special. We should be able to really bother them. We have to get deflections and be active defensively though. If we sit back in a zone and let them run their stuff, it'll be a coin flip.

Both teams have their pros and cons. If we are worried about not being able to score, I don't think that would have been a problem against wake. And ucla if we get there

We must play like we're in charge. Being the favorite doesn't mean being too cool to make the hustle plays. That used to be a concern with this team. Not so much anymore. But if we don't play like a Top 10 defense that is starving for a win, we shouldn't even bother showing up. KState has a few "nice" players but no one who should just go off on us. They're kind of like Houston but will play more inspired with something on the line.

K-state is an above average defensive team and a very mediocre offensive team. A lot of teams crack under the pressure when you make it hard for them to execute on offense, since so many teams don't play good defense. As a result K-state grab games from good teams occasionally (especially from mentally weak teams like Baylor), but their offense holds them back. You guys should win this game. The only worry I have for you is that Troy can shrink in big moments especially if forced into a few bad early looks.

Troy also can put his team on his back and lead huge comebacks in the tourney.

2 years ago Vs Purdue would be the perfect example. Or when we were down 11 to Tulsa and TC hit 2 huge shots that won us the game.

Troy will leave it all out on the floor. Its his last few games. I don't think he wants to go down easy. He has more clutch shots than anyone on UC

I expect the following: (based on History)

-UC to dominate the offensive glass
-UC to get a lot of open looks at 3 (K State one of the worst at defending it)
-UC to turn them over at least 13 or 14 times. Half will be K State turning them self over

these are season long trends for Kansas State. So if we don't do any of these things then, either K State executed perfectly under pressure and we folded and let their weaknesses become strength's.

This team also doesn't shoot a ton of 3 point shots. Maybe 15 a game and will make 5 or 6. If we keep it that number and don't foul, we should beat them easily.

K State wins

UC played a weak schedule and can't shoot a lick. They have no 'go to guy'.
