I cannot believe people want to get rid of TT. We have a coach that wants to
stay here & is a proven winner. Do we want another Butch Jones that is
looking to get out of here a year after he arrived? I don't.
There are so many things that go into coaching college football & for us to
want to fire him because we have lost some games we should not have is
crazy to me. We have a proven winner. We need continuity & stability in our program. I hope TT stays until he retires. Let's support the program, it's
coaches & players. Not jump ship or want to fire them as soon as some
form of adversity arises.
Just my humble opinion.
:)

TT winning at Auburn in the early 2000s doesn't mean anything for UC. He hasn't had a 10 win season since 2006. If he doesn't have one next year, he's gone. Stop accepting a losing conference record in the American. Honestly makes me sick how some people defend losing.

What is shocking to me is the lack of discipline on the field. Penalties, turnovers, mental errors, etc. By the numbers we are literally one of the worst teams in America in that regard. That is one of the first things a coach must be able to do. If he cannot get that fixed...they cannot win anything of significance.

We probably win every game except for maybe BYU with a well disciplined team...and BYU would have been a different kind of game if we were undefeated up to that point.

Ok please check your math. In 2013 our conference record was 6-2 & in
2014 our conference record was 7-1. This year we are 2 - 3 & have 3 conference games left. It appears from your posts no matter what TT does,
you are not going to be happy about it.
Facts & figures speak for themselves.
Again, let's support the program, coaches & players. That's what real fans
do.
Just my humble opinion.

In 2013 and 2014 everyone whined about our conference. Too easy, other teams need to get on our level. Whoops! Now that real coaches are getting established in the conference, Tuberville is getting exposed. And as a result, we're getting left out in the cold in the AAC's best season ever. We went from getting smashed only in the tough non-conference games, to now getting smashed in conference games as well. If you think we are trending in the right direction right now, then there isn't much to talk about. Waterhead is right about the undisciplined state of the program...and those problems shouldn't be occurring in year 3. This guy has no fire. HE QUITS ON HIS TEAM DURING THE GAME! Our goal is to get into a better conference still right? How do you honestly think Tuberville would do in the Big 12 right now? Beat KU, and maaaybe beat Texas and Iowa State? He went 9-17 in 3 years at Texas Tech and NEVER had a winning conference record! WAKE UP!

Exactly. And why isn't this solved by year 3? Bc we're waiting to magically fix it in year 4?

Real fans support a coach who QUITS on his players with 4 minutes left in a hard fought game? Ok. So there's literally nothing Tuberville could do to lose your support...

I feel he is here just to breeze through the remainder of his coaching career and then he'll retire wealthy in Florida a few years from now. He brings NO desire or hunger to be great in our program. After a bad loss he just brushes things off like it's no big deal. Get mad, throw something, get a flag for being in the refs face. Anything! Recruiting is trending in the right direction, but this season is already over. He is 0-2 in both his bowl games. He better win out the rest of the season and win the bowl game...

Your general dislike for TT, as I stated before, will not allow you to accept
anything he does good for the program. So at this point my discussion with
you is over. I think TT is the right man for the program & you don't.
We disagree. End of discussion. Let's move on.:)

I'm fine with moving on. But just to be clear, I didn't always dislike Tuberville.

I will say if we were in serious talks of joining a power conference that having a veteran guy like Tuberville who on paper at least seems to not be looking for the next job and has his feet planted here is probably a good thing rather than having a coach that everyone knows will take the next better job available. That's a big if. I have a feeling Bohn is not a fan of Tuberville, just a feeling I have based on an off the cuff remark I heard him say at that meeting about fifth third renovations. I think the only way Tuberville sticks around past his contract is if Bohn really thinks he is the coach that can make a difference in joining a better conference vs. someone else. And honestly I don't know that who the coach is would matter in those discussions.

Stability and recruiting are the two things Tuberville brings to the table. And those are two big factors in a winning program. The results on the field speak for themselves though. This team is undisciplined and we lose games we shouldn't because of it. That falls on the coaches shoulders. We could argue about strategy and game calling, but to be honest I've never heard a fan base not question what the hell their coach is doing, winning or losing. Tuberville knows the game of football and while he's not young and hungry so to speak he does want to win. His reaction after that stupid 4-penalty play lets you know he still cares and wants to win.

We have a bigger stadium to fill now and we all know how losing turns fans away very quickly in this town. The university has a tough decision on their hands. Me personally, I've seen enough of his product on the field to say I want him gone. This was the year I stopped giving him the benefit of the doubt and he didn't deliver. This team is too talented to have four losses. And it took a miracle finish to knock of Miami, OH. We almost lost to Miami all three years he's been here. That in and of itself is inexcusable.

One thing I disagree with is the beginning part where you say it is an advantage to have Tuberville if we're heading into a new conference. If we were heading into the Big 12, then we would no longer be a stepping stone job. So we'd no longer have to worry about a guy leaving, unless it is for a best of the best job...and if we have a guy that good, I'm assuming we'd be in good shape to make another good hire after that.
