Maybe the offense is also getting better as other skill players get healthy. Moore, Holton, McKay and Boone were all banged up earlier this season.

Hayden Moose is the future. We lose 3 games in the first half of the season every year now. Time to let him finish the season and get some experience. 3 winnable games left for him.

I am a full time Tuberville hater not Bearcat hater. Just look at the results: undisciplined, head scratching play calling, and turnovers. That is what you get with Tubby as your head coach. Three years, same results. Enjoy him.

Just because jacob expects more from this once elite football program does not make him or any other banner mad at this season a hater. Here's the bottom line we just spent 87 million dollars on a renovation pay our coach the most $ of any non power 5 program and just a few years ago had a perfect regular season made the orange bowl and finished 8th in the final ap poll. We have proud fans who saw this program grow to huge levels and these same fans are now seeing us slide back into mediocrity. Sorry 5-4 and 2-3 in the american isn't sitting well with some fans. We had momentum we had some respect and we are slowly losing all that we worked for. Going into this year our winning percentage was 14th amongst all fbs schools dating back to 2007. We expect more...I expect us to be ranked on a yearly basis fighting for league championships and this year I and other fans had high expectations. I'm not happy we have played 5 decent teams and lost to 4 of them, and that's not ok. I know what bearcat football was and what it can be and this is not it

You shouldn't be surprised with the results Rob. This is the first year we've actually faced a mildly challenging schedule. With Miami(OH) and an FCS were are basically getting 2 free wins a year. This year we've actually faced legitimate competition with @BYU and 3 good teams in conference. We would have had the same (or worse) records the last two years if we had the same schedule. Tubby's padded his resume here with all those cupcake wins against 0-12, 1-11 and 2-10 teams.

Well said Rob. My main thing with Tuberville is that he does less with more. That is not the Bearcat way. It doesn't sync up with the culture we strive for in our athletic programs. I know I've harped on it a lot, but it is absolutely worth repeating, the BYU game told me all I needed to know. Imagine our basketball team calling off the dogs like that.

But on the topic of Kiel vs Moore...I'd turn it over to Moore. We have nothing to play for at this point...besides bowl eligibility, which should be a given.

I just don't understand your logic. Kiel and Moore, both very capable QBs, and both with comparable stats. One is a junior and one a freshman. You are going to throw the junior to the curb. If the freshman stumbles or gets hurt, you are going to ask the junior to pick up the pieces. That is a bad way to go.
This sounds just like the Bengal fans, who wanted to kill the QB last year. Now they love him.

What are we playing for at this point? Gunner has had 2 seasons to deliver, and he just hasn't done it against the best competition. His INTs tend to be backbreakers. And when you add in the fact that he has been injured multiple times, it just doesn't seem to me to be working out at that position to the best it could. I personally want Hayden Moore getting as many snaps as possible. His only loss came in the game where the coach quit on his players. We aren't in the running for anything at this point. I think it'd be a great time to make the full time switch. Get Moore some momentum heading into the spring and the next 3 seasons. I just see that as the best long term plan.

Agreed. Kiel kind of has to be the starter and will likely be the starter next year too.

If we're going to play in a New Year's Bowl as the G5 member in the next 3 seasons, I believe that will happen with Moore at QB. Nothing I have seen from Kiel leads me to believe he can start all 12 games and lead a team to 10-2 or 11-1.
I realize Kiel has made some decisions that cost us but he is far from the problem on this team...and this IS a team game with two sides of the ball and lots of other players.
We have the 11th most penalty yards in the nation
Near bottom 50 in defense in terms of scoring
Fix those issues and maybe the QB doesn't feel like he has to score on every drive.
He has the 10th highest efficiency rating in the country. ..inflated or not

I get that Kiel isn't the biggest problem, only problem, etc. But next year, does anyone see this team as a legitimate contender for a New Year's Bowl? If so, what am I missing? If not, why not do what's best in the long run? Moore can make up to 15-17 more starts before his JR year, or 0. If we aren't competing for anything, why 0?
