Louisville - Chane Behanan

It is his immature attitude and excessive pot smoking. It doesn't have to do with the ring.

I wouldn't mind taking him if that is all that it is. Pot should be legal and there have been studies that show that coffee is more harmful than pot on the body. Immature attitude would be more worrisome, but that shouldn't stop us from at least looking into getting him.

According to Ralph, Chane moved to BG, Ky b/c his mother didn't like the crowd he was hanging out with in Cinti. Why would she let him go back there now?

OTOH, could/would Pitino put in a word for UC since MC and Rick are good friends?

He definitely needs to grow up. I don't want to pile on the kid, but he's got 3 children under the age of 5 from different women --- including a high schooler. That to me indicates poor decision making and immaturity. Typically I am willing to take a chance on a lot of transfers (like Dixon) but I don't know if coming home to Cincinnati would be the best option for Chane. I am sure UC and XU will reach out and see if he even wants to transfer, or instead try to go pro.

Sometimes, it doesn't matter where you are. If you want to find trouble, you will still find it. Sounds like he has issues, but I wouldn't be bothered if they reached out to him and tried to figure something out. It's definitely worth looking into if you are MC...

He'd only be eligible for less than a year. With a young core next year bringing in a guy with possible attitude problems for half a season might not be worth it.

I wonder since he got kicked out and not arrested, just like Dez and Michael Dixon, if he wouldn't have to sit out a year.

He is only a Junior, not a Senior. He might get a waiver knowing the NCAA and their stupid rulings.

Why is that? He is a Junior this year, correct

He is midway through he junior year. If he transfers now, he won't be eligible until midway through next season.

It is more likely that he tries to go pro for the rest of this year and take his chances of being picked in the NBA draft. Most likely he will be overseas...

Could be like Dixon and get a waiver, however. I doubt it, but it is the NCAA we are dealing with, you never know!

I guarantee that Mack and X take a flier on him. Transfers are right up Mack's alley.

His mom will not let him return to Cincinnati, per previous Enquirer stories. The report in the Enquirer stated that his mom moved him to Bowling Green, KY because he was running with the wrong crowd in Cincinnati. She would not let him fulfill his UC oral commitment because she would not let him come back to live in Cincinnati.

Looks like living in Louisville and being under the watchful eye of Rick Pitino did not work.

This is correct. His playing time makes this entire year his Junior year, thus he has used up 3 of his 4 years. As he has to sit out a transfer year he would not be eligible to play until the end of the first semester next season which would be about December 15, 2014. He could play in about 22 games plus the conference and NCAA tourneys, after which he would have no eligibility remaining. A transfer waiver by the NCAA would be highly unlikely. My guess is he goes pro, declares for the NBA draft, plays in the D League or overseas.
