Have to give Kevin Johnson credit. In the last 3 games he's started hitting shots and developing confidence in his one dribble pull ups. He is 10-13 (76.9%) on 2PT FG's and has slightly has improved on 3PT shot, 6-15 (40%) over the last 3 games and 6-11 (54.5%) the last two games. His ORtg has been 119, 143 and 132 the last three games and he is (finally!) over 100 for the season.

As impressive as I have seen him play. Obviously that doesn't mean 20 points. Just tough!

Thankfully Mick took Washington out or I was about to break my computer if he chucked another shot at the rim without even looking to pass.

I have all the faith in the world Mick can make Kyle a decent defender...

I have limited faith that mick can take a good defender and turn him into an offensive force.

As much as I hate to say it. We would have lost this game with Kyle and Cumberland on the floor tonight. We needed defense and toughness. Scott and KJ were there. Coach Cronin has a pretty good plan. I am humbled tonight by him playing Scott and KJ. They (Marshall) were killing us...and we didn't have an answer.

Winning this game with Kyle on bench is huge! Hopefully it resonates!

People will say Troy sucked. He had 12 f-ing boards and 6 assists. This game belongs to Gary, Jacob, KJ, and Troy...and Scott played well. These 4-5 guys won this game!!

Cumberand was on the floor during the last couple minutes of the game and OT, and on D during Marshall's last possession so not sure how you come to that conclusion.

While KJ has improved significantly the past few games, his defense is still vastly overrated. It was good at times tonight and bad at times, including in the last minute of regulation when he let his man just blow right by him for the layup. Same thing happened in OT but the guy missed the layup. And he wouldn't have gotten hurt the second time if he would have just gotten back on defense instead of showboating after a made 3. UC still needs to find a suitable replacement for KJ, and the only possible solution is Cumberland.

He did suck. Stats don't paint a whole picture, especially when you cherry pick them. He was 3-14 from the field, and 1-5 from the line. His defense was terrible. Yes, somehow I think he only had one turnover miraculously even though he was careless with the ball against a team that doesn't press and doesn't play tight defense. He constantly had his shot blocked because he continues to double clutch everything. I'll give him credit for sticking with the last play after his first missed shot.

As for rebounds, not sure why people point to rebounds as some great indicator of performance. I'd much rather let my bigs get the rebound and have my PG half way up the court for the outlet. But have you ever seen UC make an outlet pass to Troy? Nope, because he is always standing underneath the basket. UC had a major size advantage, they didn't need Troy in there rebounding.

I like Troy. But he sucked tonight. No other way around it. He needs to start playing better for UC to have a chance at all this year.

As much as I want Cumberland on the floor he got served on D a few Times tonight and he was pulled. You may not have seen that. Plus KJ was hurt for a little bit. I like his offensive upside but his D is not good.

You don't get 12 boards as a guard without wanting something. That's my point. Sure he shot terrible again...but hes hustling. He wants it. That's what he brings to the table. Desire. I agree he hasn't been very effective this year.

Obviously this isn't the way we really wanted this game to go, but the cats really didn't play bad. Our 3pt defense could have been better, but we survived a team shooting 17 of 31 from deep, that's not going to happen very often. Cats shot above 50% for the game, and I don't know for sure but I'm guessing had our best 3pt shooting game, just under 44%, when we really needed it. Showed a lot of toughness not letting this one get away, clawed it out til the end and came away with a win.

Clark was the Clark we all though we would see this year, he really seems to be going the right direction after his slow start. If Washington and him can get going at the same time they are going to be an absolute force down low.

Jacob Evans picked it up as well, and was super clutch tonight with some a big steak and some huge 3s including the game tying one.

Troy still seems to be struggling to find his shot, he needs to realize he has other guys that can score now, and just stop forcing it so much. However, despite missing shots he was still big for us tonight. 12 boards is huge for a guard, and is a huge help no matter what anyone thinks. And he still came up with the game winning rebound and shot. Love it.

All in all I really like the toughness of this team, I really think that is gonna pay off come conference play and tourney time. They just seem to really wanna win and no one is giving up. We have seen flashes from just about everyone on the team. Right now just seems we are waiting for everyone to get going together. But the good thing is if a guy or two is in foul trouble or has an off night we got guys who can step up their game and do a little extra to make up for it. Been some hiccups along the way but I really like where we are right now, gonna be a great season for bearcats basketball.

The best time to have a wake up call is right before conference play. At temple will be a tough task and they should come out focused now. Great to steal the win last night. Not sure how we won it. Marshall made 17 threes and was 100 percent from the free throw line. We were under 50 from the line. That is unacceptable. Walk out of there glad you have the W and clean some glaring things up. This team we can at least say has fight. And Evans, I doubt he wears a coat all winter he has so much ice in his veins.
