They picked up the flag...

People who keep saying we got screwed by the refs are idiots. We got screwed by our defense, make a few stops and get off the field and we win that game. When you set every offensive record in the book during a game and still lose it's not because the refs got one 50/50 call wrong, it's because your defense SUCKS.

That's all good and fine. But on that one particular play, I'm not sure how you pick up the flag. Those refs were bad overall. I thought Morrison fumbled and they didn't give it to Memphis. Also, on a 3rd and short 1st quarter we were clearly lined up in the neutral zone, which would have given them a 1st down. No flag. Not great both ways.

Refs screwed Memphis as much as they screwed us....there is really only one way you lose a game where you accumulated more than 700 yards and scored 46 points and that is being undisciplined -- a Tuberville staple.

So going into the game, Kiel had a "shoulder" injury. Didn't Tuberville say after Miami that he got his bell rung and was a little fuzzy? Then after halftime last night he was saying that it was a neck issue this time. What's up with that?

I agree with Jacob. I totally agree that our defense is horrible. Its really bad and very disappointing because I see no improvement from last year. But it is a crock of sh*t that the refs picked up the flag and overturned the fumble late in the game. Terrible calls by them. Its easy to say the Pick 6, blocked FG, and UC's horrible defense made us lose the game. Shocking we still have a chance to win.

The defense really wasn't as bad as it seems. Memphis had a pick-6, and scored 10 more points off of turnovers. That is 17 free points for an explosive offense. Mid-way through the third quarter they only had 9 first downs, it was the undisciplined play that cost UC last night. Then, obviously in the 4th quarter the defense came unraveled...

When you get 4 rezone trips that you had to settle for FG's while the other team is scoring TD's was the ball game. If UC scored TD's instead, they might have put up 40 at the half...

I didn't understand why they were having Kiel run the ball so much before his big hit. He should have stayed in the pocket all game.

Did the same thing with Kay when he was banged up... You can thank this man:

The defense was really bad, plain and simple. Guys can't tackle, DB's are running with their backs to the QB, linebackers look slow as hell and are missing their assignments. They are young, so hopefully they'll look better but the defense was terrible. Even their DB's seem big and slow.

Unfortunately this team has had too many bad breaks with injuries. Having Boone out really hurts them. I'm not sure I've seen running backs that looks so overweight and out of shape as Green and Williams. But Boone is explosive and UC needs him.

Right, you have a guy that admittedly got his bell rung last week and you run him on play action runs, he gets hit and taken out, so then the same play was called with Moore at QB at least twice. Makes no sense.
