Not that any of this conversation on the last 3 pages has anything to do with the tittle of this thread, but......
I think that just about every recruit (and their parents) understand that coach's are subject to changing sometime during the career of ANY player at ANY school. This is one reason that recruits visit the SCHOOLS and not just meet with the coaches. Only at the very highest level of schools, where the coaches are an institution unto themselves, do recruits on a regular basis go to a school expecting to play for a certain coach their whole career. Even there, most are wise enough to know that their relationship with their POSITION coach is probably going to be at least as important as their relationship with their head coach, if not even more important.....and those coaches change all the time. In addition most are wise enough, and have seen enough of the world, to realize that the NFL is also a possible future option for people like Saben, Meyers, and Harbaugh.
But we aren't really talking about players choosing between UC and those schools anyway, are we? Not if we are realistic. When it comes to recruiting for football, we are really talking about recruits choosing between UC and 2nd level P5 schools at best, and most commonly choosing between UC and other non-P5 schools. I doubt very seriously if any of the recruits at these schools don't understand that the head coach is likely NOT going to be at their school for the next 4-5 years. If the coach does well they will most likely move up and if they do badly they will most likely be fired....that's just the way it is, and all the coaches and players understand this. Fans should too. If they want to be honest with themselves, that is.
The point I'm trying to make is that "stability" in the coaching staff is not something that happens anywhere except a few very select schools and probably is not something that 99% of the recruits countrywide either expect or need.
