The team this year should be better offensively. (This takes into account a lot of assumptions though)

1. SK will be back
2. I expect Shaq Thomas to take a huge leap and average close to 15 ppg.
3. Lawrence should have an immediate impact and be able to score. I would guess 10-12 ppg as a freshman.
4. Rubles should be more efficient
5. This freshman class has more offensive potential than last years and could possibly help immediately.
6. JDIII can shoot. I don't know what impact he will have but it could be significant.

1. He really needs to improve his efficiency. Kilpatrick is good enough to average 20, I just hope it doesn't take 20 shots to get there.

2. You are expecting a lot out of that young man, I could see Thomas average close to 10 points a game. Don't overrate one game against a team that simply was a good match up for him.

3. Tough to say with a freshman but I agree that Lawrence should be a difference maker.

4. Really like him, think he is the most talented returning player. Hope he has a good second season.

5. The skill level is higher, but they are freshman. I'd like one able to step up...hopefully Strickland

6. Best passer and has a great feel for the game.

Overall, the team should be a better offensive team...but that isn't saying much.

I didnt say anything about changing the offense. That is what Mick said was going to happen and we'd see a differenc, PRIOR TO THE SEASON STARTING. Even before Cash got hurt, we had no transition game and we hit 3's. My argument has been we are an inconsistent shooting team. You cant rely on that to win games, cuz like we saw, when they arent falling you are in serious trouble
Prior to the seaon he may have intended to run that style. Soething persuaded him to change, Before injuriy to CAsh we were playing very well and winning. My opinion is without the injury to Cash we would have won a few more games and advancedat least another round in tourney.

You all need to stop assuming that because I point out this team couldn't shoot that I'm defending the head coach, I'm not. I do not think Mick adjusted to his personnel nor played to their strengths. Shaq should have been getting playing time all year and a coach puts players in position to be successful. All that said, this team missed a ton of open and easy shots. A TON!! It is ok to not like the offensive scheme and still hold players accountable. Yes, I know who recruited them, but they still are accountable for not finishing drives, shooting poor shots, missing free throws, and not being able to make a lay up. It cost them many close games. As I said, Mick needs to recruit some shooters. He doesn't play 10 deep anyway so 10 athletes don't benefit you. Recruit a couple spot up shooters and run some zone when they're in if you have.

"We'll play faster. We've spent all spring + summer learning to play the way we did when Yancy was out last year." Mick Cronin

We beat Marquette cuz SK put up 36. That was not the norm. No consistency.

With that quote from Mick, it shouldnt matter who is PG. If you practice that long on something shouldnt you have a guy who can fill in?

Im not comparing Guyn to Cash, but that is no reason to not go through with your plan

Relatively speaking we got lucky with only one injury. You know how many teams have had to overcome an injury or two?

No 1 Sk needs to get to the FT line. If he does ths his whole game will improve

No. 2 Thomas will be in year 3 of the program. 10 points is reasonable and doable. he has talent all he neds os playing time.

No. 3 lawrence will need time to adjust to the physical demands of the game at this level. if he works hard in weight room this summer he will be a huge factor.

No. 4 I think Rubles will have a big year. He is physical and know what to expect now. improve his jump shot and he will be a force.

No 5 fresman always have more problems with defense than offense. how quick they catch on defensively will be a key for how well the team does and their role.

No. 6 have seen nothing that says he is the player you seem to think he is. Hope your right and I'm wrong.

He did have a plan. It changed. you apparently didn't like that it changed. Oh well. they did overcome the injury. They won 22 games and made the dance. With injuries and personell limitations I think they did well. Oh and PG'slways matter. Gyn can't carry Cash's jock to imply they are interchangeable is foolish

Thats fine. We'll be mediocre. That team had experience and guard play and couldnt find an offense to save their lives. Under achieved, but that ok for you.

If one guy goes down, all the sudden youre not going to do what you worked on all spring and summer??? Makes no sense

Guyn cant shoot as well as Cash, but his ball handling skills are not that far behind. His ability to penetrate isnt that far behind either. No reason why they cant run an up-tempo style of play

So if I think that under the circumstances they had a good year i'm excepting mediocrity. LMAO!!!

What they worked on all spring and summer.. he said he wanted to run uptempo. Something changed his mind. Probably the play of his bigs and his lack of PG depth. Prior to the injury his change was doing quite well.

On this team if Cash went down we were in trouble. No doubt.Oh and by the way there is a heck of a lot more seperating Cash and Guyn then shooting ability. If you can't understand that we really shouldn't be conversating. have a nice day

They werent running an up tempo style prior to his injury. They were hitting wide open 3's vs scrubs, just as I had stated during that win streak. The Marquette game, SK had 36. How many times did that happen this year?

Mbodj lost all that weight to play faster. He might as well had kept it on if he was going to post up 80% of the time

Their OOC was not a bunch of scrubs. New Mexico,Iowa state,. Alabama. were in that group. marq. and Pitt were also in the 13-1 record.

You don't think losing weight and becomming more agile helped him defensively and with his indurence do you. Look I don't want to be rude but this is going nowhere. have a nice day.

Im sure it did. But the reason was to be faster and run the floor.

They scored 58 against Alabama and 54 in a loss to NM. Oh and 52 in a loss to St Johns

Enjoy your day

Yeah but you leave out the 78 they put on Iowa St, 77 on Oregon and 70 on Pitt at Pitt. All tourney teams, watchout your biased is showing.

I think a huge part of next year will be jdIII. when he's in the game, it moves faster. They really missed him (at least what I think he could have been) last year.

Is that not the definition of inconsistent? When our shooting is on, we can rely on the 3 and a half court offense. I just felt they should have ran the floor more. Even prior to Cash's injury, they were not

11-24 from 3 vs Oregon

16-16 from the stripe was SK vs Iowa St

We all know those were things this team could not rely on all season.

You could say this about EVERY team in the country! When any team is shooting well they can rely on the 3 or half court offense. Pointless statement.

Yeah, look what the hot shooting Golden State Warriors (Stephen Curry) did to the Denver Nuggets in game 2.
