I'd like to hear him say what he can do as a coach better. So, "We lost because I did not put them in situations offensively to succeed. Or defensively I kept guys out there who were being lazy." To me, that is taking responsibilty and that was what I was looking to hear from you about his post game on 700.

Like UCbearcats said, he did take responsibilty but in my mind he didnt mean it. It seemed as a cop out.

And you are correct, the players have to play. On the other hand, something is not clicking with this team, coaches included and thats up to Mick to discover

He basically said what you wanted him to say. Don't know what the problem is.

If you have a computer (or smart phone) you can get it to.

If he said eveything I posted after the Presbyterian loss, I stand corrected. From what I read and what my friends in the Nati were saying was he blamed himself, but rambled on about guys being lazy. Ive been trying to ask longhall how he had taken responsibilty. As in examples. You finally come out and have typed what I was looking for.

I will shut up now

i agreed the coach should take responsibility, I don't agree about the players. Players play and they should have pride when they step on the floor. You can't teach heart and you can't police the locker room or you can give your all to coaching. He said the score of the Marshall game was 43-30 (rebounding margin). Again I point to players hearts. This team quits playing when they think they have a game won (Pride). You have to want to get better. That is on the players. I lay the responsibility on Mick I blame the players.

Of course the players are the ones who actually settle the score but when you aren't having success as a group the responsibility lays on the coach. It's fine to blame the players, but they are Mick's players. If you are blaming the players then you are also blaming the coach.

In any business if you are a manager and your team isn't performing up to par then the ultimate responsibility lays on you as their manager to up the team's performance. I'm a sales manager, if my team under-performs for a couple of years I'd probably get fired. If my boss came to me with issues about my team and I'll I did was blame them I'd look like a bad manager.

Mick is basically a manager, it's part of the job, it's what you sign up for. When your team isn't performing it's on you to turn it around. Maybe UC should have Mick sit in some of their business courses and PR courses so he can learn how to sound like a leader when he gets interviewed.

When the team looks bad on the floor and the coach sounds worse in the post-game you've got a big problem. I don't know what things are like behind closed door, maybe they really aren't as bad as they seem, but Mick doesn't do himself any favors with his post game comments. Fans don't want to hear excuses, they want to see results.

Oh, and this might be one of the more ridiculous quotes to ever come out of Mick's mouth....this is after the Marshall loss.

"We have got to eat our vegetables," Cronin said. "I have the same problem trying to get my daughter to eat her vegetables because they're good for her.
"I'm trying to get my team to do things that I call the vegetables of basketball. Kids don't like them but winning teams eat their vegetables…”

What is he even talking about?? Shut up with the stupid analogies and just win some damn basketball games. You have an experienced starting 5, you've been saying the same $hit since they got here. When is it ever going to change?
