Interesting article about Mick Cronin's recruiting style using the "Moneyball" model as a comparison.....

Isn't it funny how every time the troops get restless, this "landscaper" writes a passionate article to support Mick. He's even been showing up on Mick's radio show. He's a landscaper by day and a blogger by night. It would be like Paul Daugherty writing an article on shrubbery. He does write well for a landscaper though.

who is restless??? Why the landscape reference???

Read his profile. His day job is landscaping. Just calling him what he is. His words, not mine.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to write a good basketball article. Who cares what his job is? It was a good read and I think most UC fans would agree with what he is saying. Everyone can agree that Mick's system is based on toughness and defense, where people disagree is the lack of offense/how to improve it.

He is asking, why is that relevant?

Well, his last article sent this forum into a Mick love-fest as if this guy is a guru on the subject. Just want to keep things in perspective. It's a nice writeup by someone like you and me, not someone who does this for a living. His last writeup reminded me of swiss cheese because it had so many holes in it.

When I start writing official looking articles, I'll let you know Waite. It'll be in my profile. As long as I just state my opinion on a forum, I'll keep it a secret. My day job is no more relevant to stating an opinion on Mick as the landscaping profession would be. The difference is I'm not trying to make my opinion look like something professional so that everyone believes it holds more validity.

No one posting on here is qualified to Coach D-1 hoops or act as a AD. Your opinion may not carry as much weight as his based on your chosen profession. If you disagree with it state your qualifications. He is a landscaper, again what do you do?

Did not see where he was professing to be writing the Gospel. He stated his opinion in print. You obviously disagreed with him and belittled his article buy referencing his landscaping duties. Not nice L-T.

Believes it? Good god settle down. It's a freaking blog that is taking a position and providing evidence for that position. You are free to disagree. He isnt being paid for his opinion. His blog mimics thousands of others out there on specific sports teams. Simply because his views may not line up with you attack his day job and try to use that to hammer his credibility. It's just cheap.

The trend i see with you L-T is that you're the loudest and most active after a loss or better yet a losing streak. No one could ever question your support of the program but your main mission is to get a new head coach and that is clear. The problem is that anything besides a final 4 will never be accepted by you as progress or achievement. I have not read every post you have ever written but i don't recall all that much support after winning the regular season when they were predicted to finish what? 6th? I would wager a large sum of money that if they were predicted to finish 1st and finished 6th, the site would crash due to all your posts. I respect that you have been around a while, but all i see is you magnifying Cronin's "failures" and minimizing his accomplishments. Blind supporters can be just obnoxious but i find you just as unreasonable, only on the other side of the fence.

Humility:

(noun) The quality or condition of being humble; modest opinion or estimate of one's own importance, rank, etc.

Examples for humility:
Plus her humility or modesty makes her less threatening.
Modesty and humility are better off checked at the door.
For someone trying to show a little humility, you sure seem quick to judge someone's intelligence and/or knowledge.
L-T needs to find a good balance between self-confidence and humility.

Don't need Final Fours. Three sweet 16s out of five years would be fine for me, with the other two years making the tourney. Two 1st round losses followed by not making the tourney (hasn't happened yet) or even (3) 1st round losses in a row is cause for major concern, especially when you've been banished from the Power-5 conferences.

I said my day job was no more relevent than his. That's why I don't try to disguise my opinions as something professional. If his day job was in the sports field and/or journalism, it would hold more validity. Chad Brendal ia a good example. I don't always agree with him, but he is legit.

You could have easily just said you didn't agree with his opinion. You came off like a pompous ass.
