From a statistical standpoint JD3 has been better. As I mentioned it may be a defensive or attitude issue. I am not buying the apples and oranges argument...maybe tangerines and oranges. JD may have had a lot of garbage time but that doesn't mean the other team had their 2nd team in or that Sanders didn't have garbage time as well. I will admit Sanders saw more time against better comp...how much better is the question really? Enough to skew the stats the way they looked? I don't think so but it's possible.

I don't want to argue...I like hypotheiticals and theorizing. It's all fun!

Let's put this topic in a slightly different perspective. Coach Cronin knows what he is doing...and that'e why he is the coach of the UC Bearcats (and I love the job he is doing). Sometimes though coaches get things wrong (not that he is). Let's take a look at UC QB's in football and their coaches.

We have seen over the years that sometimes the QB, while it is apparent in practice who is the better player, is not always the case when in games. We have seen QB's, sometimes 3rd stringers play as well if not better than 1st stringers. I can think of a few like Pike and Collaros and Kay for example. Not that Kay has proven himself yet. But the coach had an instinct to start the season on who was best for the team.

They aren't always right. Practice and game situations are different and certain players (even if less talented) perform better in games than others. It could be nerves or confidence related...who knows. Right now I think Sanders has confidence issues and I don't think Davis does. I would rather have the more confident player in the game unless they are obvously more detrimental for the team or game. I just don't see that type of obvious detriment from Davis right now...but I am only looking at a few stats and not all the items that a coach might consider.

Look maybe sanders will turn into a solid player. But frankly right now, Jerry is a better player who adds more to the team.

Honestly neither should really see much play time come big games. But Sanders in the game before Jerry is absurd.

And by the way Jerry played 10 minutes had 9 points 3 assists a steal and 2 rebounds....

Case closed. Yawn. Bring your A game next time.

A silly post considering only 2 games have been played.
 
When Davis enters the game his role is usually to score and alot of times he is at the point. Sanders job is neither of those, ever. We really are comparing apples to oranges at this point as far as looking at stat sheets. Typically when you put in back-ups, unless it's garbage time, your job is to hold your own on defense and not screw up on offense. Cronin feels Sanders does a better job of this and furthermore feels Guyn does a better job of it than Davis. I like Davis alot and think he'll be a great shooting guard by his junior and senior seasons. As of now he still plays out of control. Sanders, while less of a scoring threat, plays more in control and thus will see minutes ahead of Davis.
 
I would agree with this if it weren't for the idea that Cronin is the guy who wants to see Sanders be more assertive. Cronin wants "practice Sanders" to become "game Sanders".
 
I think we have to understand that sanders and davis are in roles were they don't have to force anything during there time on the floor. They be in the game with other starters so they don't have to force, just be in long enough for killa and parker to have a breather. There time will come next year.

Don't give him attention, that's all he wants. Don't worry, he doesn't know anything and always thinks he knows it all. By responding, you are just motivating his dumb attacks.

2 games this season.... Last year was the same story.

I hope Im wrong but if Sanders cant beat his man off the dribble against clown schools aint going to happen later on. So then you say, he must shoot pretty well... but he doesnt.
