My "ban" from BCN

Lobot, I know I'm not a moderator or a sight owner of any kind, but is there any tips that you could give these guys? I love the sight and hope people continue to post respectfuly, but also give their opinion. I feel like here, no matter the opinion, people can have fun.

Do you have any suggestions at keeping this place the way it is? Again, I don't do anything for this site but post here, but maybe those in charge would always consider suggestions from someone who has been there in the past.

Kingsley, The fun part about this site is what I like about it. There is a looser and younger demographic here. BCN attracts some of the big donor red sweater crowd that feel entitled to complain becuase of the money they've dumped in over the years. Ralph is actually an exception to this. I think the trick is to stay small. Also screen your users. I noticed after I email verified on this board I could post immediately. BCN we use a 5 post rule where a mod or admin has to approve the post before it shows up in the thread. That keeps people from instantly yelling and screaming garbage.

I was asked by several members to delete a thread, so I did. I don't like to delete/close threads, but I'm usually going to go with what veterans want. The newbies need to follow their lead, it's that simple.

Evidently; it was a thread of mine that got deleted; I was unaware of posting any derogatory attacks on any member of this forum.
Could you please list the members considered "veteran"; and could you also list the topics that are "verboten". It would help in the future to realize that some opinions are protected speech and mine are not. I am baffled as to why my thread was deleted, no pm or anything; especially as there are numerous threads expousing the opposite opinion of mine; but since they were from "veterans" it's ok?

It would appear to me that this action was done in response to some posters complaints on subject matter; it would be nice to know in future what other topics are not allowed unless you are a " veteran" This is a new experience for me; posting on numerous other college boards; have never had one of my posts deleted; not even from the Ohio State boards [they don't like UC fans] which up to this point I had considered the most sensitive of any I have posted in.

Just kidding. People like to have fun here, we have already talked about Mick and his job status, and in fact it was a pretty good discussion. While opinions varied, we could still talk about it like adults.

I didnt delete your thread but I would have. At this point we have heard all opinions and it isnt a productive conversation.

To be honest you had under 10 posts and you started a topic that is going to be controversial and lead to people not wanting to be here.

If you build some crediability and we get to know you, and we all know your not looking to be "that guy", and that you actually want to have a good conversation then fine.

WHen you a veteran maybe we will have a better feel. Until then take your newbie swirly and know your role..

I signed up in feb; came over from another site when someone mentioned over there that this site was around, have told other people about this place.
Now I can't start a topic that is "controversial" am not a "veteran", do not want to be "that guy" whatever that means and have to build "credibility" Evidently I do this by agreeing with "veterans" in a non "controversial" topic in order to appease unnamed indivuals in attempt to build "credibility" striving not to be "that guy"
