National Championship Contenders

The fact that you think they have a good chance at a national championship makes me think they have no chance.

Let me take you through my predictions on espn last year. I was ridiculed by bearcat and opposing team fans in the comment sections of the games.

Should be 9-0 but some shady calls got me

Im almost convinced BearcatMick is Donald Trump. Never wrong except when its someone else's fault. Not a single prediction backed up by any logic. Just mindlessly choosing UC. We all want UC to win but want to have a realistic dialogue about games and opponents.

So put you money where your mouth is. Over/under regular season win total: 26.5

You will need to define regular season. I assume that doesn't count BE Tourney and obviously not NCAA Tourney. Don't give him an out later by a lack of definition.

True, most posters would know the bug east tourney didn't count but he's not most posters.

26.5 wins BEFORE the big east tournament that takes place March of 2013. You're on the clock mickey.

Can't win them all, Mick! Unless you pay for your players!

Based on this thread it's gonna be a fun year...

Not sure how beating a really good D2 team has anything to do with how you'll fare in the toughest conference in D1. NKU was typically a top 10-15 caliber team in D2 and we've beaten them every year in preaseason, including some of our bad years. I will say Bellarmine is a good team and could probably be a mid-major contender if in D1. UC played tough last night. Bellarmine had great ball movement and got some good looks but our defense played relentless. The ball just did not go in the basket for them. Some of that could have been bad luck, but I credit the defense. They gave a lot of size up to us and we are very quick. Our offense was very fluid as well last night. Belarmine's D did little to stop us, that won't happen so easy in the Big East.

Anyone else find it interesting when Mick called a timeout to stop our run early in the second half? We had run off about 10-12 very quick points and Bellarmine was really struggling and Mick called a timeout. I figured he wanted some better competition and wanted to let them catch their breath and regroup. Interesting how different a preseason game strategy works.

Too bad the athletic department decided to have real game number 1 at the same time as the Bengals vs the New York Football Giants. I will be missing my first UC basketball in years.

I'm with you Ralph. The overwhelming majority of uc fans wanted mick gone. Last year, one poster on here wanted him murdered at the hands of Tu Holloway

I take this statement back only because I wouldn't want to give Tu Holloway the satisfaction. I'd like to see Chris Mack, Mike Brown, Dusty Baker and Mick Cronin enter a 4 man cage match where they all strike each other over the head with chairs at the same time, simultaneously killing each other.

PS - Of course you're with Ralph, you are Ralph, you sad old man

The statement was 8 losses. Uc will not lose 8 games this year unless there is an injury.

Trying to get out of it I see? Not surprising. Let's try it again you said there was no chance UC loses in OOC and you think this could be a 2 or 3 loss team. I even gave you a little wiggle room and put it at 26.5. So which is it? Over or under 26.5 wins?

You know it would be okay if you missed game number 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.....and so on ralphy...just saying ;)

I wonder if Mick figured that there is no way this run goes on this long without a TO being called in the Big East. Maybe he wanted to break up the rhythm of the team and see how they come back out after a TO is called. Considering they kept the run going, I would say they passed the test if that is what it was.

Incorrect. 8 losses was the agreement. They won't have 8 losses in the regular season unless there is an injury.

BearcatMick 10:03 AM Yesterday "I've been saying this all summer. I will be disappointed if this team doesnt go undefeated in OOC play and run through the BE. UC has a legitimate shot of a 2-3 loss season, a 1 seed and a national championship."

You are dodging the question (shocking). So answer it: How many regular season wins will UC have before the Big East tournament this year?
