Michigan State shouldn’t have even won today, refs blew that late call. Shoulda been 3 shots for Michigan, they definitely did not deserve to be a 1 over anybody that is

Your last statement is a matter of opinion. That’s what I’m referring to.

Iowa fell over and died halfway through the game against Michigan 2 days ago. Our athleticism will give them fits. If we can limit their 3 point shooting and stay out of foul trouble against their bigs then we can do well against them.

Just thought about it, Zion is gonna be trying to dunk on Tacko in round 2, hope UCF wins, that’ll be fun to watch. UCF might be able to give them a hard time

I see, well To each their own. I believe Gonzaga earned their 1 seed. They get harped for OCC schedule all the time, they played Duke UNC and Tenn, yeah they went 1-2 in those games but they played them. They are battle tested and have some great future NBA players and the number one offense in CBB. Other than a hiccup against their biggest rival in the championship game they played a great season, one seed was well deserved

Screw the second game. We gotta beat Iowa. They have lost 5 of 6...6 of 8. This is a team that, if we let hang around has the potential to knock down 3's and get the W. Control the game and bully them. Build a lead and hold it. It's March so you never know, but we can't pull a 10 point lead and then allow them to creep back...too many shooters.

I like us 71-62.

We were #27 on the seed list, making us the 3rd 7 seed. Iowa is the top 10 seed and Tennessee is the top 2 seed.

The parade has been rained out! Haha...I am okay with the draw though. Iowa is the epitome of "limping in" and 4 of 5 TN losses have come in the last 10 games. Could be worse I suppose.

They had an absolutely terrible loss to a very bad Rutgers team. What concerns me about Iowa is they are snipers at the 3pt shot. And I will take a 7 seed with essentially two possible home games in Columbus. IMO this is March, there are no more easy games, the seeding is what it is and we can potentially get a shot at Tennessee in Columbus. But the noon start time for Iowa is worrisome in the fact that this team usually comes in sleep walking in the first half of noon games. Hopefully the hype of the tournament has them ready and the extra day off for the Friday game is extra nice.

Iowa certainly concerns me. Thankfully they are not playing well right now and have a lot of crap surrounding their coach.

Iowa has a couple of bigs that can score and a couple of great 3 point shooters. Bearcats will actually have to win this in the Cronin model. Defense and rebounding. Offensive rebounding will be vitally important against Iowa's zone. Brooks must stay out of foul trouble.

Ultimately I think the Bearcats win this game by about 8. I think the Cats do control the boards, the guards (Jenifer/Broome) hit enough 3's, cumberland stays hot and williams gets his game back (as his athleticism will be a problem for the Hawkeyes). Let Scott get about 8 points and double digit boards and we win.

My fear is they get hot from 3, force some tempo and we try and out score them (like Houston at home). I think beating Houston was huge for a lot of reason. Cumberland swagger is back and the team saw what it could do with defense, rebounding, tempo, and letting the stars shoot.

So UC was #24 in the Top 25, wins their Conference tournament while handling the #11 team and gets seeded at #27. That's fuzzy math at best.

I agree. If we got a bad seed draw I think the location definitely makes up for it. Call it even and go play some basketball!

Polls are completely irrelevant to seeding. Our final team sheet shows #35 in Kenpom, #31 in BPI, and #30 in Sagarin. The math is pretty clear.

Per T-rank we have a .1% chance of winning the tourney. That is better than about half the field at 0%.

And our NET ranking is 25...so the math is not so clear.
Our NET ranking is also irrelevant. NET is used sort quadrant games. It matters for our opponents.

Everything the committee uses is on the team sheet. When looking at all of that information, and not your personal benchmarks like polls and conference tournament results, it's very clear why we are a 7 seed.

In fact, I have stated repeatedly in the last week that it would be very tough to land a 6.
