Watching UL really makes me wish Behanan would have kept his commitment. UC would be so much better with him right now.

Was thinking the same thing but that won't do anything but make us crazy lol. I was impressed how quick UL gets down the court. I would like to play at that pace. It seems we have resorted back to a grind it out style.

News flash, they don't rank the teams just on how they did the past week.

That's exactly how the polls work. You move up and down from your current position based on your performance in the past week. Otherwise why would UL be ranked ahead of Duke? They beat them head-to-head and a comparison of their best wins isn't even close. Duke lost last week and UL didn't.

Yea....okay. Why am I not surprised someone here doesn't understand how the polls work.

Please share your knowledge and tell us how the polls work then. And you still haven't answered my question why UL is ranked ahead of Duke if the polls have nothing to do with the previous week's games.

When did I say the polls have nothing to do with the previous week's games?

I said:

And then you said:

You are either completely ignorant to how polls work or have reading comprehension issues. Although still a problem, I'm hoping it's the latter.

We'll try this for a third time. Why is UL ranked ahead of Duke then when they beat them head-to-head and a comparison of their best wins isn't even close?

Wow. Are you this dense?

You want an answer to your unbelievably dumb question? UL is obviously number 1 instead of Duke because UL lost to Duke way back in November. UL has proven to be the better team right now. In fact, here is what I said about rankings not too long ago:

As for the polls in general, I don't disagree with the "what have you done lately" sentiment. Teams get better and worse as the season goes on and that should be reflected.

Now, a question for you since you are so ignorant to how the polls work. Why isn't Kansas St ranked ahead of Duke? You also think that is bullshit? Go ahead and answer that.

I'll repeat it again. Then say it over and over in your head until you finally understand it. Polls don't rank teams solely on how they did the week before. Try to grasp that.

Now you are talking in circles.

First you say-
You can't just punish teams for losing, you also have to credit them for winning.

The difference is the wins. Again, Illinois has beaten OSU, Gonzaga, and crushed Butler. Those are better wins than UC has and is what's getting Illinois placed ahead of UC.

Based on that exact same argument you are saying the polls would have Duke ahead of UL because you "can't just punish them for losing" and "they have better wins than UL." That's not how the polls work! You somehow think the polls give you credit for wins that happened a month ago and they don't (the exact reason you think Illinois is still ranked). Otherwise Duke would still be #1 because no one has their level of wins.

KSU isn't ranked ahead of Duke because they were 18th last week and beating WVU on the road isn't enough to move them ahead of a #1 Duke team that lost on the road to a good team.

I'll say it again, you move up and down the rankings from your current position based on what you did in the previous week's games. It's not that complicated.

Alright, whatever dude. I don't feel like having to keep explaining how polls work. You just keep thinking they base it solely on one week of basketball.

Based on how much we argue over stupid, little issues, it's easy to forget that we are all fans of the same team.

New polls are out. UC #21/20. Cuse are #3/4. We will get to enjoy it for at least a week regardless of today's titanic struggle.

I think we will still be ranked, but I also think we deserve to still be ranked and I am not sure how the polls really think anymore. Quite a few ranked teams lost this week so it should be interesting. Anyone else's thoughts?

We shouldn't drop. End of game loss to #3 on the road. Shouldn't hurt at all. Matter of fact, the Marquette win without Cash and the close loss may have renewed some respect. At least that's the slant of things I've been reading.

Can someone tell me how on earth UL is still #12??? We have basically the same resume as they do. I thought for sure they'd drop to around 19.

we should be ranked for the rest of the season as we should only lose 2-3 more games. would love to creep in to the 10-15 range again before the regular season is over.

Nope, only us. I am not complaining about our ranking but I think we should have stayed the same with all the other loses last week and our last loss was against #3 on the road but oh well lol.
