Xavier and Butler to join, so next year Xavier will be in the Big East and we'll be in the ?????? Conference. This is my nightmare folks, this is my nightmare.

yep, the biggest kick in the nuts.

while all this was going on just keep telling myself, we got one more year before it becomes a nightmare. so much for that...

as a fan i think the big east should allow a founding member, uconn to play at meca this year. exp since its clear this is it. no sense to allow the fans to suffer for calhoun lack of leadership.

Agree with everything you said. I was also in the boat that had no worries because we still had Louisville, Rutgers, and the Catholic 7 next season. Well that is over.

Football was always going to be pathetic next year, so I'm not worried about that schedule, but who are we going to play in basketball?

I can't believe we basically just got kicked out of the Big East.

so im slightly confused, does UC, uconn, memphis, usf, etc. still have that ESPN tv deal we made last week?? to keep us on tv? anyone know?

i dont wanna be screwed and only be able to watch like 3 bball games a year lol.

also, i think everything will work itself out. i can see the big 12 in our future, and if not, we will be the new gonzaga and just dominate a weak conference :)...im being very optimistic

yes, espn will still have the rights to insert conference name here___

uc,uconn, and usf will be paid nicely for the big east name. about the only good to come out of this..

i don't know. maybe we can work something out with one of the c7 for a home/away series. need to beef up on ooc games because the new conference schedule won't do us any favors.

My understanding is the football side of the $30M stands, but the basketball money, $10M, will be renegotiated.

Or to put it in more ridiculous terms:

UC will be making less money than Depaul, Xavier, Butler, Marquette, Georgetown, Villanova, Seton Hall, Providence, St Johns, and whoever the 10th team is

Not when you add the sale of the Big East name, rights to MSG, exit fees, and NCAA tournament appearance money to the TV money. From what I have read UC is going to get a $20 million check when the C7 exit.

Marquette & Georgetown should develop a pretty good rivalry. I see them carrying this new conference. Villanova could make some noise too.

The annual X / St. John's game should be sponsored by Massengill feminine hygiene products, since both fanbases are usually the biggest douche bags.

but the ralph told me that uc would make more money in the new big east then the c7.:p

Take Louisville, Syracuse, Pitt, UCONN and Cincinnati out of the Big East and the conference will be nothing like it used to be. Adding Butler and X does not make up for the losses. Keep the faith !!

i don't think anyone would debate that. even the c7 know it's a water down version. but what can't be debated is the little jesuit school is now in a better situation then a major university that bares the city name.

that's a tough pill to swallow...

I feel sick.

well if it makes you fell better, 8 of the 9 nbe schools have made a final four. x is the only one not to.

it has to be rough knowing such powerhouses such as depaul, provey, seton hall, and st. john's are in front of you in tradition.:D

Hell has frozen over. Never would I thought xu would be in a better conference than us.

They are not, UC's conference is still better overall, UC, UConn, Memphis, Temple, etc. will be consistantly better than Marquette, Villanova, Georgetown, etc.
