Ok, Looks like we are playing New Mexico next year in home and home beginning next year.

What's our OOC schedule gonna look like:

Wright State - home
New Mexico - home
BE/SEC Challenge - home
Marshall - Charleston, WV
Iowa State - Las Vegas
UNLV/Oregon - Las Vegas
Xavier - US Bank???
*Jacksonville State - home
*Northern Arizona - home
*Campbell - home
*NC A&T - home

* Part of Global Sports Classic

That's 11 OOC games, probably 1 or 2 more scrubs I'd imagine.

Note: Edited to include Global Sports Classic teams.

New Mexico is a team that will do very will in their conference and end with a good RPI. I like the move.

Agreed. As Brennan put it, tough to secure a home and home with a top 25 team right now. Love it.

Like the addition of New Mexico, but I think having to agree to a home/home with them shows the state of what is out there (nothing) bc absolutely no one ever wants to go play in the Pitt. That place has had one of the largest HCA in all of cbb for quite sone time. All in all, not thrilled they have to go there in a 1 for 1, but I think it's the best decision and hopefully will propel the university into more and more marquee non conf games.

Forgot to add that part of the Vegas tournament includes Jacksonville State, Northern Arizona, Campbell, and N.C. A&T. I think all are home games. Not sure how any of those teams are.

Far better than the last couple of years. New Mexico, Iowa St., UNLV, Xavier, SEC team along with Wright State and Marshall. May not be a grinder but it is solid and will help prepare this team.

Prepare them for what?

History shows that your non conference schedule in no way prepares you for the Big East, see Seton Hall last year, UC last year, however, it does give you a better RPI. But UC's NCAA Tourney selection will depend upon how they do in the Big East, see UC last year and Seton Hall last year.

Funny how at the end of last season you were saying the poor schedule and resulting rpi would keep them from the tournament. I do believe a tougher, not brutal schedule, sharpens you. Iron does sharpen iron heading into league play.

I am fine with playing new Mexico home and home, teams play other teams in tough places, nothing uc can't handle. I am worried about the sec match up. No way do we get UK, everyone knows ESPN will play uk and gtown. I just feel us getting shafted again with another Georgia.

Ole Miss would be an intrigueing match up. Hope if it's not UK it's Florida, Alabama or Vandy.

Unfortunately, both Florida and Vandy were away during this challenge last year. So I would assume they would get a home game this year. I think our choice will between Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Georgia. Doubt we play Georgia again. Maybe Missouri we'll be in in it? I'd love to see that. Texas A&M is another possibility. Not sure if the new SEC teams will be in this though.

Bama would be good IMO.

Alabama should be a solid team. It would be a good test, and if we still must bow at the alter of the silly & arcance RPI, it would enhance it with a top 50-60 team.

If it's not UK or Florida, which seems unlikely, I would take Vandy, Tenn, or Bama.
