2016-2017 OOC Schedule

Man, I really hope we face Duke. I have no expectations of winning, but I would be thrilled to see the guys compete like we did against UK 2 years ago.

On the subject of our schedule, I wonder how many division 1 programs establish an order deadline for season tickets before they've even released a schedule. Through the years, I've known many people who have dropped their season tickets solely because of the way they were treated by our ticket office. I just found it pretty funny that we were asked to pony up before we even know who we're playing. Classic!

Well Being as we normally release the NON conference schedule in Early July (2015 and 2014) its fine. but this year we had to scramble to fill the michigan that we got screwed on.

That was a planned premier home game. I don't buy the big spender season tickets but rather the 125$ ones and I personally feel that is a steal for getting to see: Xavier, Uconn, Memphis, SMU and Temple.

This is generally not type of the way they do things. Usually you have until the 15th of August and the OOC is released in Early July.. Way to make a big deal out of a one time occurance.

With how much you hate Mick, Why are you even worried about it? You hate the program so much, just don't renew.

l-t knows and hears from people the same way that donald trump is always "hearing" things from unnamed nobodies.

I'm going to bat for L-T on this one.

That's a cheap shot imo. I agree that L-T is frequently overly critical of Mick and I also agree that his gripe in this case seems a little petty for exactly the reasons you pointed out. However, I believe L-T is a great friend, fan & supporter of the program and University. He's states as such multiple times.

I was with you until your last comments. L-T is a friend of the program and I'm glad to know he's renewing his tickets again this year. We can banter, but play fair.

I renewed a long time ago. That ship has already sailed. Even though there are many who have bailed because of Cronin, I'm not inclined to do so. I've bought tickets thru coaching regimes that were far worse than Cronin. That's what a real fan does.

BTW, our ticket operation has been atrocious thru the years, so this stupid event doesn't surprise me at all. I could write a novel on this subject, so you don't know what you're talking about on the one-time occurrence comment.

I'm surprised that with your level of love for Mick that you wouldn't pony up more than $125 to support him. Loving him on here does nothing for him. Show Mick the money!!

Thanks! I do love the program and support it unconditionally. I just happen to believe that we need a different leader running the operation. I have a lot of company in that opinion. On this forum, there's more company on the other side. That's ok too. One thing is for sure, one of us will be right eventually and if the program benefits in the end, I could care less. We all have the same goal, I believe. We just see a different path to achieving the goal.

Agree 100%.

I surely agree with you about the poor quality of our ticket administration. I am going on my third year of being a season ticket holder. Even though I'm not a huge donor, I love UC and its athletics so I take much pride in being able to renew my season tickets the past couple years. However, I feel completely unappreciated and ignored as a season ticket holder by the university. I never hear from them, unless it's time to renew, then I get harassed until I renew. Once I do, it's complete silence. There is basically no incentive that I am aware of for being a season ticket holder. The football season starts in two weeks and I still haven't received my tickets.

Not sure what else to expect but basically, the lack of communication, incentives, and the overall feeling of not being appreciated is highly disappointing to me. I am a proud of alum, but UC doesn't make it feel like anything special.

Sure I agree that UC is Terrible at selling tickets, keeping fans involved, and in general does very little to get fans excited.

Except they do do this for the Football program and they have little events before the season starts. Not sure why we don't do this for basketball.

That said, my Beef with L-T's comments were based on his judgement of this years issue. Which did not happen last year or the year before and this year just happened to have a scheduling issue.

You said it better than I could. I've got a lot of miles down this road and as I said, I could write a book on this subject, both in my own experiences and of other season ticket holders. I actually plagiarized this whole thought from a good friend who called me lest night complaining about this event. He recounted "several" events that he has experienced thru the years with horrendous treatment by the season ticket operations. He told me he has cancelled his season tickets several times over this treatment, only to eventually come back. He also told me of a letter that he recently received regarding the new arena and what sounds like ticket holders should be preparing for what he referred to as a "screw-job" when the new arena opens. I don't know what letter he is referring to because I don't open half of the stuff they send me, but I guess I need to go find that one. But, this is a very common complaint regarding how ticket holders are treated. Thanks for sharing that.

The ticket operations have always been suspect. This was just the latest occurrence.

I receive emails and mailers about bearcat activities ALL the time. At least weekly. Also receive thank you calls and letters from student athletes. A few of the activities are based on donation levels which are made known when you renew tickets. http://www.gobearcats.com/ucats/ucats-donor-benefits.html At basketball games UCATS employees walk around and talk to many donors and are friendly and helpful. I don't know whether you are just choosing to not pay attention but I think your complaints are off base.

I've never experienced any of what you've written above. But then, we've only been season ticket holders for 55 consecutive years. Maybe it happened before we came on board!

I don't think he is off base on most of what he said.

Sorry, I take what I just said back. I have received emails about activities and events.

I went to every game last year expect one, never have I seen a UCats employee walking around engaging in conversation.

Sure I get the mass email's they automatically send out to all UC fans who have purchased a ticket to a game. That doesn't make it personal. Those general emails, are well, general emails, sent to general public. (anyone who bought a ticket) Those are not specific to just season ticket holders. You can't really count the general emails that let you know when and where the fan zone is before a game or when the football scrimmage is etc.

I've received one call in from a student athlete thanking me. That was nice to hear. But nothing from the administration except to renew and give money.

Maybe you have a different opinion/view/expectations on customer engagement and retention. But when we are spending over $1000 on tickets for sports per year, I would expect better from the admin.

Nothing new here, but a very good home team. I've watched/bet on many ISU home games, and they seem to always win even if they are down and have to make a late push. I remember one announcer saying magic happens there. It seems like it truly does. Would be an obvious big win for us in a tough environment.

Can't wait for this match up. Hopefully this becomes a yearly match up :) Good thing for us, majority of the team remembers that painful home loss last year. Time to give some payback.

I was surprised Cronin didn't want to play Rhode Island. If he's friends with their coach, we should play them every year. It'd also be nice if LD and Savino ended up as HC someday and we played their teams too.
