Yeah they say he and Beal don't get along. Gortat openly said they have the worst bench in the league. And Markieff Morris is a cancer. They gotta blow it up.
I was looking at Purdue. I couldn't tell if they'd crush or if I just hate Iowa. Man I just skipped over all the small conference games today. I might give this a shot though.
There are some teams that are so public that they know they can't get 2 way action no matter what they do. Especially if they hang a bad line. At that point, they have no choice but to let it ride (Clemson/Alabama). So why don't they just make the lines for those public teams (this is typically more specific to NFL) sky high? Bc they'd get pummelled by sharp money on the other side is why. Why is that a concern if their goal isn't balance? You can pick examples of extremely unbalanced games where Vegas does nothing to correct it, but those are the exceptions to the rule. No misconception here. The only time Vegas is doing any gambling is when sharps and squares are on the same side. But that's obviously not what they want. I get your point. And you're not wrong. Balance isn't ALL they care about bc they know they won't always get it. But being on the hook for a big loss certainly isn't the place they want to be very often. Especially for things like regular season basketball games.
It obviously becomes more complicated too when you factor in vulnerability to teasers and parlays. For example, way more people were on Pittsburgh last week, but they moved the line up despite the fact that buyback started happening on Miami. They did that bc they wanted to get the teasers away from the key numbers. There's a lot to juggle. I know you know that. Just trying to clarify over here without disrupting the SMU thread.
