Please post NON-UC signees here, as well as surprises/changes that will come in. The flow of information will be better if it is kept in two threads only.

This is only for 2/3/10, while a lot of info is coming in at once. That way, we don't need to visit 15 threads to get a heads up on 2 guys who signed their LOI.

(For UC signee information on NSD, post on the specific UC NSD thread)

Hendrix and Massa both signed their LOI's. No word on James yet.

Preston Brown will sign with Louisville or Minnesota. Hearing this from two people.

Christian Jones signs with FSU.
Sean Parker goes to Washington.

Washington has 31 commits. If none are counted as EE (early entries), then 6 will have to grey shirt, or hope for some natural attrition (grades, jail, transfer, etc)

Brown signs w/ Louisville.
Simon Kenton RB Miles Simpson signs w/ Kentucky.
Anderson OL Andrew Norwell signed with tOSU.
Lakota West DB Brandon Neal signs with Tenn-Martin.
Lakota West LB Jordan Hicks signs w/ Texas.

Sentreal Henderson goes to USC. Spurning ND and tOSU.

Although he might start from day 1, some feel Matt James was more gifted, technically speaking.

Not so fast my friend, so says Sentreal Henderson.

Henderson and his family provided an inside look at his final week of recruitment. It included updates on Florida Coach Urban Meyer’s health, Southern California’s precarious situation with the N.C.A.A. and a flurry of text messages from two Heisman Trophy-caliber players.

And it may not be over: According to his father, Sean, Henderson is not signing his letter of intent until U.S.C. appears before an N.C.A.A. infractions committee later this month. Though any possible sanctions may not come at that time, Sean Henderson said the family would get a sense of where the investigation was heading.

Henderson said (ND's Michael Floyd, who attended same HS as Sentreal) Floyd wrote to beware of “fake coaches out there” that “want you for the wrong reasons,” but he also encouraged him to “go where you want to go.” He said Pryor wrote that he should “come to Ohio State and help win games” and that he needed “more linemen.

Smart move by Sentreal. While not a fan of Kiffin or USC, I think he's being smart by seeing how things fall before committing fully. It's not over, folks.

The differences in how universities pursue a recruit is always a fascinating aspect of the recruiting process.

The universities generally tailor their pitch based on a recruit’s likes and dislikes. And it made for an interesting compare and contrast of e-mail messages that Sean Henderson has received during the recruitment of his son, Seantrel Henderson, an offensive lineman from Minnesota who is considered by most analysts to be the nation’s top high school football recruit.

The younger Henderson orally committed to Southern California on Wednesday, but he will not sign his letter of intent until U.S.C. appears before an N.C.A.A. infractions committee later this month.

On Monday, the Ohio State running backs coach Doc Tressel sent an e-mail message to Henderson’s father referring to a performance by the rappers Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake during the Grammy Awards on Sunday. When Tressel, the older brother of Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel, visited the Hendersons in December, Seantrel made his father freestyle rap for him.

In the e-mail message, Doc Tressel wrote:

“That was a Grammy performance made me think of u! After u did that rhyme 4 me in Dec u said u felt best bout the Buckeyes. The Bucks hbe not changed!! We want u to be down here ovr spr break to learn more bout Columbus. Doc”

Tressel’s slapdash e-mail had a far different tone than the one Florida Coach Urban Meyer sent to Sean Henderson last month to inform him that he wouldn’t be making a home visit with the Hendersons.

In it, Meyer wrote:

“I hope all is well and I apologize for not being able to make it up there to visit. I tried but my AD and doctor would not allow it. I know your family will be making a life-changing decision in the next few days. I want you to know that he will be taken care of here both as a student and as an athlete. The opportunity to be part of this great Gator Nation with the networking opportunities is unmatched. We have put together the #1 recruiting class in the country and Seantrel is the last missing piece. This class is similar to Tebow, Spikes, and Percy’s class where they wanted to come together to be the best and they did! If you have any questions, I would love to speak w u. Go Gators! Urban”

Neither e-mail worked, but their differences speak for themselves.
