OT - LeBron

Yes, a lot of people don't like LeBron. So what? He's the greatest player of this generation, no doubt, but I don't particularly like him. I never had a problem with him until the "decision" and while my feelings have softened since then, he's never going to be one of my favorite players. I don't blame him for leaving Cleveland, but I just can't get on board with players conspiring to form super teams to chase championships -- even though they are perfectly within their right to do so. It just isn't something I find enjoyable as an NBA fan.
Absolutely have no issue with LeBron. If a player fulfills his contractual obligation he is free to go where here wants. You say you don't blame him for leaving Cleveland but He shouldn't conspire with other players to form a good team. Where should he go to a bad team. Should he not be concerned with what kind of team he will be joining. Player movement is a reality. LeBron didn't start it and it won't be going away anytime soon. I have contact with many people who have known LeBron since his junior high days. He is a very fine young man. Other than leaving Cleveland for Miami you will not hear anyone with any credible info that leads you to believe he is anything but a very fine person.

I'm sure he is a fine person. I don't have anything personal against him. He's just not one of my favorite NBA players.

And like I said, he had every right to team up with Bosh and Wade in Miami. There's nothing wrong with what he did (although I do take some issue with how he did it). I just have more respect for teams that get better through the draft, make smart personnel decisions, and win that way (such as the Spurs). That's much more entertaining to me than big market teams buying championships.

OKC is like that too. And that's why they are going to win it next year.

Honestly, name me the last team in the NBA that won a title that didn't have at least 2 if not 3 elite players on it. Maybe the Pistons, but they had several above average players if none could be considered elite. LeBron went to Miami because no big time free agents would come to Cleveland. The Celtics were sporting their own three-headed monster at the time and the Lakers and Spurs out west had loaded rosters. LeBron knew to get a title we would have to go elsewhere. I don't care how good a player you are, you need talent around you to beat the other teams that have talent at multiple positions.

This goes back to the original point. Wasn't teaming up with Wade and Bosh the answer to this problem? I think the general consensus was, "Ok. No more excuses for LeBron now." That's when he made the "...not 6, not 7..." comment. But somehow here we are 4 years later and it is the same excuse for LeBron. So what happened?

If they get Lowry, it will mark the beginning of an irreversible statistical decline for him.

I only made my point in reference to why he left Cleveland. As far as to your point, I agree. I think the Heat's problem is other than the big three and adding Ray Allen they really have nobody. Battier is not a bad role player. They should've been signing the Derek Fisher's and Robert Horry's of the world rather than just filling out a roster. You could argue Allen is that type of player and righfully so, but I think they should've gone after more solid veterans.

At the end of the day though, the Heat have won two titles and came up runner up two times in the last four years. That is nothing to shrug off. I think the difference in them and some of the three-peat teams (Lakers, Bulls) is there are just better teams out there right now standing in their way. The talent in the NBA has funnelled into a handful of teams.

Only 8 teams have won it since 1980. The NBA has always been top heavy. The best legends just find a way to come out with 5+ rings.

Btw since 1998, only the Spurs, Lakers, Mavs and Thunder have made it out of the west. In the east you've had the Heat, Pistons, Celtics, Pacers, Sixers, Nets, Magic, and Knicks win the conference.

@RicBucher
My deepest and sincere apologies. My report on Lowry and a S&T between the Raptors-Heat is wrong. I should've known better. I could not......be more embarrassed. I can't explain why someone would go the lengths "my source" did to set me up, but that's irrelevant. I allowed...my zeal to break a story take too much for granted. I'd like to think I'm better than that. Yesterday and today I was not.

What a clown. NTS 4 Prez. Good call.

Agree.

Lebron to Cleveland is really picking up steam on Twitter. Either he is trolling Cleveland to break their hearts a second time...or he's headed home.

I just can't root for Cleveland in any sense. I couldn't stand LeBron while he was there.
Browns were my team until we got the Bengals. Lebron is a great example for all young atheletes. Stays out of touble, good family man and a great player from OHIO. Hope he comes home and leads them to a title.

It would be funny if the Cavs got James and signed Kenyon Martin...that way they could be the first team in NBA history to start 5 #1 draft picks: Irving, Wiggins. James, Bennett, Martin. LOL!!!

All they need now is Martin. LeBron is going home. This will be great for the league. Very pleased with his decision.
