Sounds like a high likelihood this happens tonight.

From Gary Parrish
Georgia Tech and Memphis coach Josh Pastner are in discussions, a source told @CBSSports.

Memphis fans are going to throw a freaking party. Does that mean Memphis has to still pay the buy out or if Josh leaves on his own it goes null?

Georgia Tech will probably have to pay Memphis lol
Just a few years ago people thought Brian Gregory was better than Mick. Can anyone comment. Was Gregory just in a bad situation? Do we take our coach for granted?

I've read that Georgia Tech is broke. Bobinski is running the basketball program into the ground. According to the article he owes Paul Hewitt about 7.5 million over the next three years and now owes Gregory about 2.5 million over two years. According to the writer, GT had no money to pay for a new coach. Wonder if they got Pastner cheap? Does any one know what is contract went for? I think Memphis was happy to get rid of him.

I think he'd do alright. He's done more with less than what Memphis has to offer.

I'm not so sure about that - he was at Kentucky and yes won a National Title with Pitino's players, but after that was pretty much mediocre by UK's standards. Considering all their resources, I would say he under performed. Just my opinion.

I'm referring to Minnesota and Texas Tech.

Tubby Smith headed to Memphis. Goodman said he may ask penny hardaway to join his coaching staff. I know a lot of Memphis fans from reading their fan board wanted Penny for the head coach position. That prob was a little unrealistic but having him as an assistant is a good start.

Reminds me of us wanting Kenyon on our coaching team.

At least Penny coaches AAU in Memphis. Kenyon lives in California...LOL.

While still want more then anything to get in a P5 conference the AAC is assembling quite a Coaching fraternity. Very capable coaches are being hired. Dunleavy, Ollie, Brown, Sampson, Cronin, Dawkins, Smith, and others. Should see some real talent being added to the league. Interesting to see how the NCAA selection people view it.

Everyone is mediocre by Kentucky's standards.

He brought Minnesota to be a winning program and as soon as he left the progra went to shit.

I would bet if he leaves texas tech, the results will be the same.

Pretty impressive.

Pretty impressive.

Its a pretty impressive coaching tree in the conference right now. I'm not implying Mick can't hang but we need to stop losing so many conference games. With the good coaching in this league, its not going to be a cake walk like we all envisioned a couple years ago.
