The PAC-12 signed a 12 year, $3 Billion TV contract with ESPN and Fox, it is estimated each school will receive $21 Million per year.

The Big East is now negotiating its TV contracts. Would it be possible for the greatest college basketball conference ever to get PAC-12 money? $21 million a year would be a really good thing for the UC Athletic Dept. If the Big East cannot get like numbers to the PAC-12 how are they going to compete with the 5 other BCS conferences?

No one east of the Mississippi River watches PAC-12 basketball because the games do not start until 11pm, which really makes the $3 billion an impressive figure. It is apparent from these numbers that football is the driving force of college athletics.

While most agree that it would not be possible for Big East to get that much money since we are a basketball conference I think we can get some really nice money.

Big East will get nice money, no where near Pac-12 though. They have good football and basketball (it has been good, will be good) schools. Big East football is what will bring down the money IMO. That is a ridiculous contract though.

Tend to agree KC. Football will likely drag the TV revenue down. Until they are viable nationally as a football conference as a whole.

I posted this To BCN as well but our football contract with ABC/ESPN is only worth 200 mill total and then it gets divided through revenue sharing according to an ESPN article today. it's no wonder we're swimming in debt. We truly need to negotiate a big new deal as a league. We are a BCS conference after all, if there still is a BCS after the DOJ is done.
