Conference Realignment

Bearcat NTS-if the NCAA does not permit the waivers requested by the ACC and Big 12 for conference championships, it will open the door for UC. That could happen soon or within months. Secondly, no one ever mentions the problems of Notre Dame. By Notre Dame taking it's business to be a partial member of the ACC, ND blocks UC from entering that league. Notre Dame has done just enough (five football games with ACC schools per year and piece of ACC bowl pie) and all other sports in the ACC, that the ACC is happy with the Notre Dame arrangement. They screwed up the Big East and will do the same for the ACC. I'm an official Notre Dame hater !!!

No viable candidates for Big 12 expansion. BYU is the only one that could make sense because they have a built in national fan base, already a quite lucrative independent deal with ESPN and really high attendance across all sports. However they come with some baggage. I think they have the best case to get into a P5 conference of schools not currently in one.

Well this tuxedo yoda guy is back and getting uc fans hopes up again, take these for what the worth just reporting what a buddy showed me.

(part 1) VERY inside source gave me HUGE news.
(part 2) B12 flip-flopped on having conf title game with 10 teams because 4 will be added for 2016: UCF, Cinci, UConn
(part 3) Announcement coming in June from B12 & Bowlsby

Oklahoma President Boren basically confirming that the majority of the conference wants expansion. Good read. Have to believe UC was aware of this possibility considering the money being spent in renovations.

Definitely a good read and very interesting.

I found this part to be astonishing "Boren spoke after the school’s board of regents approved $105 million in funding for the renovation of the south end zone of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium."

Its hilarious how UC struggles to come up with $85 million for basically a whole stadium renovation, and then OU can pretty easily find $105 million for just the endzone. Pretty remarkable if you ask me.

But definitely very exciting!

No doubt. If UC can get into a conference like the Big12 the dynamics of finding money for these expansions changes completely. Let's be clear, there are still some major hurdles before the Big12 expands BUT this confirmation that TV money doesn't decrease on a per school basis changes the entire landscape of possibility.

Boren is my hero! As a TCU grad and proponent of the big 12 adding schools his comments have me hoping the big 12 leaders will finally get their heads out of their azzs. IMO Boren is being earnest in his comments and truly does want to add two teams that would realistically join. It seems obvious that Louisville and Cincinnati would have been perfect adds a couple years back and that the B12 made one of the worst business decisions of all time in turning them down then.
The Big12 cannot afford to make that same mistake again and Boren knows it. UC is the obvious choice so then its a question of #12. Here's to hoping Memphis or UConn will quickly and heavily invest in their AD because the Big12 and UC need them.
Some B12'ers are advocates of BYU but that would be like bringing in David Koresh University or the College of Scientology. If CA can handle 4 P5 teams, TX 5, FL 4, then I am sure OH can have 2. Especially considering states like AZ, IN, KY, AL, MS, IA, OR,WA, all have 2 and NC has 3.
Having had TCU go through a similar journey I really respect the success UC has had, is and will continue to have in the future no matter what conference. The AAC is going to be a heck of a fight this year with UC UM UH UCF I can't wait!
Go Frogs!

not trying to get hopes up or saying im extremely confident. But OU's president was very clear he wants the big 12 to expand and add two more teams and he will do everything in his power to push this or he may leave them. Theres tons of articles out there if you want to read more i think theres the whole interview with OU's president on the the tulsa world. But heres a decent one from espn

RUNNING OUT OF TIME

I am personally running out of time. If UC does not get in the Big 12 or the Big 12 does not expand, I cannot and will not be joining UCATS and buying tickets. I will attend some games and cheer on the Bearcats, but I have financially done my part for 30 years. It will be time for someone else to keep the ship afloat!

So you are going to stop supporting an athletic department and University that is investing a ton of money in their sports programs and who regularly is competitive and going to bowl games and the NCAA Tourney based solely on something that they cannot control? Your statement is very irrational.

NO BLAME

I am not blaming UC! Someone else will claim my seats and life goes on. UC will not lose a dime. This decision is under my control.

I'm just trying to understand the rationale. If you are not blaming UC, why are you punishing UC? If you don't want to buy tickets anymore, that's fine but that's not how you positioned it. You positioned it as "No Big 12, no more tickets/donations."

It def is frustrating not being in a Power 5 conference. But, there are some things out of our control. This is def. One of them. UC is doing everything they can to get out of the dumpster AAC.

I read the article and was completely ticked off. The Enquirer is what is wrong with Journalism in this country today.
jason I wish I could say it only happens every once in awhile but the media is bought and paid for in this country. There is very little I read that I don't question. There are more Brian Williams they we would be led to believe.
