That octeus is a good player. I wish Hammons would have chose UC. We need more beef in terms of our big men. Big kudos to Deberry. I love how he knows how to use his size to his advantage. I mean that layup he made, wrap around the hoop with one hand...that was sick.

Haha that was the old "No no no no...YES!"

Its been so long since this kinda game ended with me being a happy camper. Ended their 1st round win streak and have achieved a first round win despite being a very young team Im so proud of the toughness. 7 down with under a minute to go and ended up winning. That's heart and nothing but heart. Honored to be a bearcats fan tonight(well, aside from the whole ellis thing)

We were really down 7? I was so amped I can barely even remember specific scores.

Regarding Ellis, he's been this way all season. Loads of talent, but he's such a hot head.

I don't expect to beat Kentucky. I think we have the ability to keep it close with Uk for 30-35 minutes, but fully expect to lose by at least 10. But you know what? It's the NCAA tourney and strange things happen. I'll be cheering for UC all the way.

We're playing with house money now!

Ellis should be thanking his lucky stars he has a chance to redeem himself, kid better bring it to get back in a lot of fans good graces. If he plays well and we beat UK i think we will forget about the elbow....

Ellis left game with busted lips and throat blows

Also true. He was getting hammered, but you have to play through that. He's a big - you have to be able to take shots playing in the post and not throat punch in retaliation.

Cronin had to be losing his mind during the game...first Ellis, then being down at the end, followed by a buzzer beater and then a win.

I was saying they should have pulled Ellis before his incident. He was just getting owned down low. I mean he is who he is, and I know he won't be able to put too much more weight on. When we play teams that have beef like Purdue has, we need guys like DeBerry. Ellis doesn't have the foot work skills and quickness to make up for the size difference.

I agree Matt. Ellis was getting destroyed in the post but you have to keep your head.

If he had stayed in the game, he could've been part of that high post play that Clark worked so well late in the game. My only curiosity is why it took so long for Coach Davis to figure out that our bigs were quicker than theirs?

Nevermind, I'm just glad he figured it out.

Really funny to think how we'd be reacting to Troy's missed FT if that last 3 had gone in...but hey, that's what being a fan is all about. What a ride. We may have gotten burned a couple times along the way, but we came out on top when it mattered the most. The guys just never stopped fighting. I think our team grew up a lot tonight.

Purdue ran out of gas. Can't let him dribble down to get wide open 3.

Our coaches HAVE to know when Ellis is starting to lose his cool. If he is going to be around, then they need to have an active role in-game when it comes to monitoring him.

No doubt. Thank god for KJ. He started the run when he came and pulled up the 3 in transition.
