SERIOUSLY, Caupain had no idea what score was at end. He thought we lost game

lol, I was laughing at the too. I wonder if he thought the refs called a foul on him. It seemed like he might have grazed Edward's arm and the way the ref had his hands up. That's all I could think for Caupain's reaction.

Na I've been saying all along Caupain needs watch more film to take next step. He didn't know the score and he let guy just dribble up court.

C'mon man, that's ridiculous. He knew they won, he was holding his hands above his head in relief after Purdue missed the shot. And he let him come up the court because they were only up one, it would have been insane to pressure Purdue and risk a foul. Purdue should have driven to the bucket but UC forced an outside shot.

we didn't force anything and Caupain was lost.

First, he wasn't lost. Second, it was off a missed FT in which everyone was in scramble mode. Third, he went under a screen instead of going over top of it. If he goes under it, the guy has a potential clear look from the 3 point line. If he goes over the screen the guy has a drive to the basket. Which one would you want when Purdue can't shoot worth a lick?

Even my average eyes saw that

This is EXACTLY what happened^^

That game, and my hangover were unreal. Huge step for this team winning after the Oct debacle. I chose to stay away from the boards last night cuz i didn't wanna get banned...good choice due to the onslaught of ridiculous comments made by 80% of the people on here. It's as if we think we are never going to give up a bucket or trail in a game. It's actually comical but i pray that no recruits or current players read this shit, cuz it's embarrassing. Check this tournament off as a huge success regardless of tomorrow's outcome.

Agreed! I understand the roller coaster ride, but the comments last night took roller coastering to a new level. The comments about players, coaches, the game being over with most of the 2nd half still to play, the season being over, etc. took negativity to a new level.

Gimme a break. Anyone reading the thread should see a ton of people who want nothing more than to see UC basketball win. We're fans. Living and dying with every part of an intense battle is part of it.

Hammons definitely said something to Ellis.

Hammons was so elated and clapping and making a scene after the foul. Ref told him to stop and sent him to bench. They were throwing elbows at him whole game and intentionally antagonizing him. They got what they wanted. I feel bad for ellis, but no excuse for what he did. Refs should have looked at the elbows ellis was getting. Ellis is a ticking time bomb and Purdue wanted him to blow. That is dirty, but karma came around on them in end. If their coach had any sense they would've played both big down stretch forcing us to put Moore in or put Clark on haas and we wouldn't have stood a chance. Instead they kept chucking threes and we scrapped and played hard. Better coached team won last night. F*ck Purdue and f*ck hammons. No excuse for ellis though.

If he actually channeled his anger towards attacking the basket rather than throwing cheap shots he'd be unstoppable. He was completely intimidated by the 7 footers that all he tried to do was draw weak fouls instead of just attacking them.

Exactly, you could tell game plan was to attack down low and draw fouls. Ellis was hoping for a foul on every play and the refs swallowed their whistles in 2nd half. You could read his face he was frustrated and he was taking his share of cheap shots. Ellis has to learn to control his emotions. Period.
