Help Support BearcatTalk:

Hopefully, the HR reps and administrators that make decisions about head-coaching positions will realize there are more important things than spending a few years as an assistant to Rick Pitino.

ZING!!!!! You are so right! If the Administration was smart they would fire Mick Cronin tomorrow! When being an assistant under Pitino is the only thing on your resume you dont deserve a job like Cincinnati!

Gimme a break. Anyone reading the thread should see a ton of people who want nothing more than to see UC basketball win. We're fans. Living and dying with every part of an intense battle is part of it.

If you don't see that, especially as a moderator, then there's not much more to say unfortunately. People are talking shit about 19 year old kids playing in the national tournament while they're sitting at home with their hands in a bag of ruffles. I don't know how old most of the members are here, but as part of the "younger" crowd i just find it pathetic to put those kinds of thoughts on a website where anyone can see.

Hammons was so elated and clapping and making a scene after the foul. Ref told him to stop and sent him to bench. They were throwing elbows at him whole game and intentionally antagonizing him. They got what they wanted. I feel bad for ellis, but no excuse for what he did. Refs should have looked at the elbows ellis was getting. Ellis is a ticking time bomb and Purdue wanted him to blow. That is dirty, but karma came around on them in end. If their coach had any sense they would've played both big down stretch forcing us to put Moore in or put Clark on haas and we wouldn't have stood a chance. Instead they kept chucking threes and we scrapped and played hard. Better coached team won last night. F*ck Purdue and f*ck hammons. No excuse for ellis though.

That's what I like to hear!

There's no way in almighty hell I'm going through every page on this thread hahaha.

What a game. I know it's just a 1st rounder, but this one is going to be remembered for a while. One of the best comebacks/endings I've ever seen in a UC win. It'll be on every UC highlight reel. No, it didn't win us a title or get us a final four or anything, but when you consider everything this team has been through this year, coming back from down 7 with 48 seconds left....I can't put it into words.

I also can't believe some people are finding negativity out of this (i.e. Ellis getting tossed). Do what you may, everyone can discuss what they please, etc...I just find it impossible to not relax and bask in this great UC moment. I guess some people are just pessimists.

No one is apologizing, if that's what you're looking for. Congratulations on being a "better" fan than all of us. Do you know fans of other programs? Do you think it's any different? BC it isn't. This is big boy basketball. These kids can handle it.

As a part of the "older" crowd I cannot do more than two things at one time so I would rather watch the game and yell at the TV than read and post. ;) As fans of a team we all have our emotional rollercoasters, I would prefer that my feelings and words are not locked in cyberspace for all to see.

Yessir. I'll remember this one forever. This crazy team. They just never stop.

What exactly was said that has some of you guys so bent out of shape? What do you expect to see on a fan board in a game where we were down 7 with 48 seconds left and had our starting C ejected again?

I'm not sure why you have such a big problem with hearing that some people thought there were embarrassing comments on here. There were...but nobody is pointing fingers and getting personal so what's the issue?

It's job they signed up for. When your failing your parents didn't just sit around quiet waiting on you to magically improve

It's a power play. I can't stand the "look how much better I am than all of you" attitude.

I have problem with team and fans celebrating beating Purdue like were looking to become some mid major Cinderella story. Get over it we were supposed to win against Purdue and if not for THEIR missed free throws we'll be talking recruits

So to all fans that didn't comment during game. If we lost would y'all EVER commented on this game? And if so what would've been your comments? Let me know how y'all felt about 39:15 of game.

I couldn't sleep last night so I actually read through everything. I thought it was pretty typical board talk during a game. In the moment when it is highly stressful and we are losing people are going to say things that are just ridiculous. Someone said we had the worst assistant coaches in the country. The team's effort was questioned. Individual players were being called names and being doubted. It all comes with the territory. This was my favorite:

"Please don't tell me Caupain has game EVER again. He's garbage"

Haha. In the moment its just a reaction. Im sure I said some dumb shit at the bar out of frustration. But looking back at some of the things said on the board I would definitely be embarrassed by some of it after the game ended. Something I didnt understand was all the negativity. The game was really close the whole second half and some people just went balistic on everyone. The problem is many of the things said are not even in the realm of reality. Our kids fought their hearts out. While constructive criticism is okay sometimes in the moment people take it a little too far. Still its no different from any other fan base. It shows people care it's just a shame that passion sometimes can turn ugly and go too far.

I also said before happened that Caupain only comes alive in final 45sec.

I'll tell you exactly how I felt. I was proud of every single one of them (minus Ellis). They fought their asses off all night. They lost their leading scorer and rebounder and kept the game within striking distance. Then they friggin won. I was on pins and needles but I was with them. They are our guys and the toughness they showed in the face of monumental adversity all year has earned my respect. So I stayed with them until the buzzer just like I will do on Saturday. Calling Gary soft and calling Troy garbage and saying KJ sucks is not constructive. It's just lazy and is unbecoming of an adult who is supposedly rooting for 18-22 year olds.

Fought what Purdue ran out of gas and we hit them with a knockout punch. We got destroyed for 39:45. I was quite embarrassed Purdue out of all teams were physically kicking our ass.

Well said Jack. I guess I just don't get why some feel they need to hold it over everyone's head. We've been through some rough games, especially this year, so I think the naturally reaction to being nervous/anxious can be to go into the negative/the sky is falling mode. But at the end of the day, we all love this team. That won't change.
