Quadri Moore Suspended

Kids from NY and prep school have issues WOW. You need help!!!!

I'm speaking on UC. When a guy goes prep and redshirts in REAL WORLD something was either wrong academically or athletically. If you really followed basketball you would know what I meant. Mick has glorified recruiting in NY since day 1. Mainly because of Big East. SK was a 5th year player that played around bums. Shaq, Biggie, JL, Moore, Lance all from NY and our highest rated recruits under Mick. Outside of Lance the rest bums that either struggle athletically or academically. I'll rather recruiting ohio than NY at this point. I love the kids but I care about putting them in right positions to excell in life plus bring UC championships. Basically all our recruiters are east coast guys time to change that up.

If you followed basketball you'd know that we have a recruit coming form LA, and one coming from GA. We don't just recruit NY.

And not all kids that go to prep school have character or academic issues. There are quite a few high major players that went the prep school route, and it wasn't because "said" issues.

You guys can't seriously be debating whether NY guys have more issues than others. Complete nonsense. It sucks Quadri is suspended but I'm proud that UC suspended him if he is meeting UC standard and expectations. The only thing that urks me is he isn't meeting academic standards. With how much aid and help the players have there should be someone monitoring their grades. Should never get to the point it has gotten.

Mick preached getting NY recruits. Besides Yancy and Cash mostly all our highest recruits came from NY. All our recruiters are mainly east coast guys.

Dude I coach basketball. 98% of highest major recruits either go prep because of academically or athletically. No other reason buddy to pay for extra year of school.

Getting players from NY area is not a bad thing. Your attempt to stereotype prep schools and NY area recruits is childish and sad. If I was a moderator you and your comments would be gone.
smh I don't have to stereotype ny kids. We didn't make tourny with highest rated recruit under Mick. Moore, Shaq, Biggie, Lawrence, sanders all 4* or better and can't average 8pts. NY area is where we recruit hardest who in their rabbit ass mind would keep going there recruiting guys who don't even know where to stand on court.

There are way more busts we've landed from the NY area than not. Why are people in denial about that? Just bc bulldog said it? He isn't just automatically 100% incorrect on everything. I'm not saying we should never recruit there again, but most of our best guys have come from elsewhere. The staff knows that and I think it is why we've hit VA, GA and LA so much harder lately (that plus we aren't in the Big East anymore).

you may want to re visit his comments. They go way beyond some of the kids we got from NY haven't performed at a high level.

You may want to read them YOURSELF I bought up prep school because you guys were talking about Moore being dumb bbasically. Can't use SK for model citizen when he went prep and redshirted. He's no better than next man. Prep school is basically juco but buddy. No top recruit in his right mind a choice juco over high major D1.

Not to mention NY area has best players in world according to Mick. If I was Mick I'll only recruit NY pgs.

I've been very interested in this situation, so I headed to BCJ to see what some of those guys were saying about it. This message below was from Chad himself...

If he doesn't have a drastic attitude adjustment, it is very likely he has played his last game as a Bearcat. He has a lot of growing up to do..

He also mentioned that Strickland may be headed to UL-Lafayette. That's pretty good I think. I was expecting since he's from California originally that he might end up at a UC-Irvine/UC-Davis type school.

Chad, not sure if you want to weigh in anymore on this Moore situation or not...but is his poor attitude mainly coming from lack of PT? It has been tough to get a read on this kid. I hope he takes this as a challenge and can come back with a more mature approach.

ENTIRE team had that same look and vibe past couple games. Starting to look like issue is coaching not players. When you score 13 at home in February against duke it's a huge problem. Coaching or more likely line up changes must happen against X to get program back in order. We've lost 5players in past 2yrs.

A standard has been set as to what it takes to be a Bearcat. In today's world, kids expect the reward before work approach...well a lot do. It's not just handed to you. One must work hard to achieve respect and greatness. Numerous examples can be found. I'm not arguing you, just looking at it from a different angle.

Biggie is from the DC area

Rooting for him to get it straightened out, but I found his body language disappointing all year. I think this year hasn't been how he planned it and he has lost interest. Sounds like that may have carried over to academics. I don't know him as a person and he has some ability, but I wouldn't be surprised if everyone moves on in a different direction.

Can't have multiple guys transfer out every year

If you're not 100% on board, you're a liability
If you're not a source of positive energy, encouraging teammates and responding to coaching, you're a liability
If you aren't trying in the classroom and setting a good example for others, you're a liability

Sometimes an organization benefits by increasing assets, but decreasing liabilities works just as well

You're absolutely right about this. And considering how bad some of their previous recruiting classes have been, UC needs these guys to be in the program and develop. Can't afford a couple more bad years recruiting wise.
