Nippert is hands down a better atmosphere than PBS. They do need to figure a way to add concessions and restrooms to Nippert as that is overwhelmingly the #1 complaint to games on campus. I get any food I need to before the game (or get a friend into bringing me something back on one of their trips) and luckily can usually hold my pee until after the game. I, unlike most fans, attend games strictly for the game and not the comforts though. I still think the best solution is to figure a way to expand Nippert, which can be done and I think will be done in time. Lets be honest, UC isn't going to draw enough fans to consistently need to have games at PBS. WV and UofL are the only two conference opponents that garner the need to even consider moving the game and we play them at home the same year. Some might say Pitt, but Pitt fans don't travel and they won't be in the league much longer. And we don't convince enough top competition to come here for non-conference games for it to even be an issue. I also don't expect students to consistently make the trip downtown. And students are essentially the only enthusiastic fans we have.

There is no place in college football like Nippert. None. I love it. PBS is a much much better venue to watch a football game.

I think you need to move if you can sell the tickets.

I half agree with you :) Because UC is one of the lowest revenue generating BE teams, we need the money, so if we can get more by playing downtown, then I support that. However, we need people in the seats. I was bummed seeing so few folks down there this past weekend. The OU game last year had a much better feel, more excitement vs the UL game.

As far as seeing a game, I'll take the Nip any day. The view is great, the atmosphere is great and I can time my bathroom breaks for minimal intrusion. Downtown is kind of stale, but, again, I'll do it if UC can make more money.

I don't know. If you have one of the best college football stadiums in the country, and your players love playing there, why move your home game away from there?

As for the bolded part, that screams small time to me. That sounds to me like a school that has 1 big home game a year, and never plays it at their true home field. When they finally get that big game, they are going to try and make as much money as possible, so they leave the place that their players love and are comfortable playing in, and go to an NFL stadium.

I can understand why you think that and don't disagree. It is really how you choose to think of it. I do believe that we lose an element of home field advantage when we go to pbs but it is a very nice stadium.

:eek: I highly doubt that. You said hundreds, plural, as in you've been to at least 200 hundred UC football games. There are probably on average 7 home games a year(guess) and lets say you go to one away game a year to put you at 8 games a year. You would have to go to 8 games a year for 25 years to get to the hundreds you claimed to have been to.

Not that it really matters, just trying to poke some fun atchya. ;)

I have been regularly attending UC football games since 1971 young whippersnapper.

Absolutely my opinion as well. For all the good that PBS has, there is no doubt in my mind we would have a better chance of beating OSU, OK, WV, whoever in Nippert than in PBS.
