I think Shields, Tyson Ross and Andrew Cashner are all better than Leake
Cashner? Eh.
Are the Indians gonna trade Carrasco?

Are you sure about that?
yes
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported that it was the Mets who backed out of the deal, citing concerns about Gomez’ hip. In June, Gomez missed time due to a hip injury.

Mets backed out because they didn't like Gomez bad hip.
Who else is available? Leake, Price, Haren from the Marlins?
Price
Haren
Leake
Cashner
Shields
Ross
Gallardo
Simon
Plus 3 or 4 we don't even know about
I've read Iwakuma, Fiers and Carrasco maybe too.
They got #15 prospect@JeffPassan
Return for David Price was exact same as that for Johnny Cueto: three left-handed pitching prospects. One scout likes Cincy's trio better.

Stack the pitching staff!
I would have kept Mike Leake. He's a great athlete. He's goes out there every 5th day and for the most part gives the Reds quality innings. He's an excellent bunter, runs well and fields his position as good as anyone. Not to mention a great hitting pitcher and a very competitive attitude. I think on the free agent market, the Reds would get out bid. Leake was bent on trying that market. The Reds may have lost him at that point. My point is that I would have tried to sign him prior to free agency. 70-80 million for five years would be acceptable.
